North Korea shock. Something big is happening
American Thinker ^ | 10/04/14 | Thomas Lifson

It is impossible to know exactly what is going on in North Korea, but something big has happened. The third generation Kim dynasty heir, Kim Jong-un, has been missing from public sight for a month, and may be ill, dead, or overthrown. There is much speculation, and contradictory reports are circulating, including the assertion that Pyongyang is sealed off, and no one is being permitted to enter or leave.

Pretty amazing that a country could be so private and closed that nobody in the outside world knows what is happening on the inside.

Mr Kim Fat Un using mortars to purge his inner circle clique was likely not received well by surviving members.

China has had more than enough of the Kim’s’ sideshow act - now that they have close ties and massive trade with South Korea they don’t want some 60’s Communist museum exhibit messing it up, ideological affinities amongst the Old Guard notwithstanding. Chinese pressure on the NK government has been huge in recent years - perhaps they finally got to the generals powerful enough to make a leadership change.

Something is definitely going on. It just isn’t clear what it is yet

They will reunite. It will cause SK (Korea) Korea 20 years or stagnation and cripple one of China’s competitors. The rest of the world plays chess. Obollo plays tic-tac-toe.

The official news out of North Korea the other day was that Kim Jong-un was recovering from ankle surgery. If that’s the case, why not release a picture of him smiling and indicating that he is on the path to recovery? Maybe he’s been taken out by his senior military leaders?

Let’s see is there anything to compare SK/NK reuniting?

Did reuniting East and West Germany cause West Germany to stagnate? Hardly.

China and Russia may have enabled the “freeing” of NK in the hope it will communize South Korea, but it will have no such effect and once the North Korean people taste real freedom and begin to prosper they will find freedom worth dying for, which will start with their ex-leaders.

‘Mr Kim Fat Un using mortars to purge his inner circle clique was likely not received well by surviving members.’

Mortars are not the worst way to go:

“The execution of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s uncle was more brutal than initially reported, according to a Beijing-controlled newspaper, which said the country’s second-most-powerful figure was thrown into a cage filled with starving dogs and eaten alive.”

The military complex can only keep a nation functional thru threats for so long. Militaries kill people and break things, they don’t build productive societies.

In the case of Germany the US retains a military presence and unification occurs. The Iron Curtain and the USSR fall. In the case of Japan the US retains a military presence and freedom, democracy, and prosperity break out. In the case of Korea the US retains a military presence and now we may be seeing something about to happen. In the case of Iraq and Afghanistan our lightworker President has better ideas.

-— And the number 2 guy from NK traveled to SK this morning to meet with reunification officials.

Yes, something is happening right now -—

Pray for a miracle.

China would have to be involved.

US/SK needs to promise that all nukes in NK will be given to China. That present NK will be demilitarized except for border patrol and maritime coast guard.

Make it clear that China will benefit from this and not be threatened. That a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign troops will be established with unification. (except maybe a naval base in Pusan or something)

#2 guy went to SK. I don’t think most Americans realize just how big a deal that is. NK never recognizes SK as an actual country, ever. It usually takes many months to set up any meetings of foreign ministers, where nothing ever really happens.

particularly if the leadership negotiates an amnesty for themselves, and perhaps enough money to live comfortably in the south of France for the rest of their days.....If Obama was not, himself, a Marxist he would be on the horn telling France they MAY NOT give sanctuary to the leadership of NK under any circumstance. Kill them or imprison them and burn the bodies.
