I do live in Texas. A sawed-off shotgun (barrel less than 18”) is an NFA device and must be registered as such. That is a federal law, so your state of residence doesn’t provide any cover.

You’re wrong! NFA rules apply to any rifle with a barrel shorter than 16”. It’s called a SBR.
