Correct me if I’m wrong but here’s why I think the decision not to cut off entry into the country from West Africa is suicidal.

1) We’re told that an infected person is asymptomatic and not contagious for the first 8 days or so. That idiot judge in Dallas took great advantage in that fact with his “same shirt” photo op.

2) We’re told that the screening protocol for passengers boarding flights to the US is to look for symptoms, i.e. take their temperature. That is supposed to prevent someone contagious from a) infecting his fellow passengers and b) bringing the disease to the US.

NOTE 1: we’re told that one simply needs to take ibuprofen to reduce their fever under the 101.5 threshold. Is that what the Dallas victim did? Our screening protocol is hardly foolproof.

3) We have the report from FReeper Onana’s wife that the NJ plane with the vomiting passenger was loaded with people from Liberia including unaccompanied minors.

SO ... let’s suppose each and every one of those Liberians were exposed to a sick relative YESTERDAY and received enough of the virus from bodily fluids to be fatally infected with the disease. THEY WOULD ALL BE ASYMPTOMATIC!!! There would be no outward signs of the disease and could simply lie their way through any screening questions. But in 7 more days, each and every one of them would be deadly to everyone they came in contact with.

Some may present themselves to a hospital at the first sign of illness, their flight to the US being solely for the purpose of first-world medical care. Others might be oblivious to their fate, though, and they are the ones who will spread the disease. And dare we consider that one or two may be deliberately intending to spread the disease?

Seems to me we’re already sown the seeds of disaster. It would be frightening to pull from ICE the count of Liberians who have entered the country in the last week, fortnight, month.

Please tell me I am wrong. Please!

The guy in a coma in Dallas LIED on his paperwork when leaving Liberia.

He knew he had carried the young woman who died in her own house when hospitals couldn’t take her due to overcrowding.

In one respect, he better die——if he lives, he will be charged criminally, and his life won’t be worth a plugged nickle. Someone will kill him for what he has done.

How have so many Liberians gotten Visas to come here in the first place????

Wehave enough sick people of our own to take care of.

Not wrong at all. And if Duncan survives that will further open the flood gates to miracle cure called America.

My concern is confirmed by the "Patients Unaware" section of the article linked by this thread: High risk Ebola could reach France and UK by end-October, scientists calculate. And I'm not a rocket scientist, it's just bleeding (npi) obvious.
