HOUSTON - Two people were killed early Saturday morning after deputies say four men tried to rob a bar in northwest Harris County.
Four men with guns went into EJ's Place on Kuykendahl and Colwell roads around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said when they tried to rob the bar, one of the customers pulled out a gun and opened fire, killing two of the suspects. The other two alleged robbers left the scene.
The customer who pulled the trigger also left before law enforcement arrived. Deputies are now trying to locate him.

Perhaps he’s waiting for the booze to get out of his bloodstream.
Which is why he left before police arrived. If police were serious about reducing crime, they should not bother looking for him.
Yep, he may be one of those old boys that shoots better drunk than sober.
I’m wondering how hard the police are “looking”.
They probably won’t look to hard. Hopefully he’ll get lawyered-up before they find him.
The police are mainly concerned with their own power and citizen dependence on them for protection. A level of crime is needed to keep them in power.
When seconds count 911 are minutes away...
That's up in the 1960 area. People up there tend to have lawyers. Ahem... and sometimes guns.
Four guys with guns enter a bar late at night. One guy in the bar with a gun shoots two of them. The other 2 guys leave. The customer with gun leaves. The police arrive and secure the threat.
Sounds like a plot from Gunsmoke.
I thought this might be a dive, but google shows it to be a regular strip mall type bar.
Shoot
Scram
Shutup
So this customer could, if the prosecutor wants to be a dick, be charged with killing while in the commission of a felony (carrying in bar), and wind up on death row. That law needs to be changed.
‘So these 4 guys walk into a bar. First guy says...’
Man Texas law is tough on the guns where alcohol is served..
It depends.
The CCH regulations allow concealed carry inside restaurants and other places that serve liquor unless the establishment derives 51 percent or more of their revenue from the sale of booze. In this case, they must post a ".51" sign in plain sight (usually by the front door, by the cash till and some place on the bar). If you are packing and you run into one of these signs, you must turn around and leave your weapon in your vehicle.
Additionally, you cannot have any alcohol in your system (you must blow a 0.00 if challenged by a cop) any time you pack.
IIRC, violation of either of these two requirements is a felony.
What if you’re carrying a cap and ball? Surely antique arms are old enough to be in a bar...
Except customer needs more range time.
“Customer could be in some trouble for having his gun inside the bar.”
Not half as much as explaining to wifey where he has been at such a late hour. But sounds like he was waiting for someone to finish work. Anyway, I think he was wise to leave.
BTW: Texas bars are not exactly gun-free zones. Customer could have run outside to his truck, got his gun, and returned.
Customer could be in some trouble for having his gun inside the bar.”
Yep. But only because they did have a No Guns sign in their front window. I would hope that they don’t do a serious search. Understand he was a regular but I would think that anyone who knew him would be thankful he was there and not rat him out.
