Tell me. How to the hell does a viral particle 'win' in a sociological event such as opening or closing the border? To deny hosts to ebola seems to be a winning strategy to the people who might have otherwise contacted the virus and then contracted the disease.

Quarantine is perhaps the world’s oldest means of preventing the spread of disease for very good reason: it works. Quarantine is also strictly enforced when transporting animals, produce, etc. internationally.
It is, of course, a measure of the politically-driven cynicism of Obama et al as well as their hubris that they think time-proven medical protocols should be dismissed because they happen to be in office.

Allowing airplane flights out of Ebola-infected African countries is insanity. Think about it. If they can’t fly here, the disease can’t come here. It’s a physical impossibility. The carriers would die well before a slow boat from Liberia could dock on our shores.

If things go badly with ebola and we finally happen to get a sane president and congress the. a law should be passed that anyone in the CDC and DHS wants to keep their pensions active then they have to serve in an ebola hits one as a medical attendant. Uninfected areas have the right and responsibility to prevent entry by persons from infected areas.
