-— ...I remember in the late 80s hearing Howie appear on Jerry Williams show, including as part of the “Governors” on Tue. afternoons. -—

I remember thinking that there couldn’t be anything worse than Dukakis. Those were the good old days.

>>Howie Carr update : As mentioned here previously, very shortly(like days), WRKO 680’s Howie Carr will be a free man after 20 years in the afternoon drive at the Talk Station. Carr is going into regional/national syndication but WRKO 680 is definitely out of the running as his Boston affiliate. As a matter of fact, the station is gearing up for the Life after Howie and will be holding tryouts with potential replacements after he departs and will name a permanent replacement when the new year starts. As for Carr, he may or may not have a new Boston affiliate but Worcester’s 830 is putting out a pretty powerful 50,000 watt signal so that may serve as a temporary band-aid for his Boston area listeners. One talk radio insider even wondered if WRKO would try to lure former WTKK personality Michael Graham from Atlanta back to Boston...at least for a holiday fill-in work in December.
