And I have said this since April. That is what is remarkable about this outbreak was and continues to be the percentage of health care providers at all levels contracting the disease.
Compared to other outbreaks that risk is quadrupled.
So I continue to say that means our current thought process and what we have done before with Ebola evidently is not sufficient.
If this is true in Spain..it is not a stretch that we were absolutely, positively insane for bringing it from that Continent.
Period.
Overconfidence in personal protection. Look to Youngor Jallah and her family. Plenty of contact there. She went on sunday (Sep 28) and took his temp and BP, sat him up in bed and fed him hot tea. She was conscious of cleanliness and disinfected the apartment afterwards (days before the state Texas got around to it). She had zero protection, but was just very careful (trained as a nurses aide).
She is in day 8 after contact. Duncan had symptoms on day 9 and was obvious by 10/11. So she has a couple days to go and then we will know if she got infected back on that Sunday or not.
