Turkey: NATO has plan to defend the country

The NATO alliance has drawn up a strategy to defend Turkey if it is attacked along its border with Syria, a Turkish official said Monday.

Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz, whose country is a NATO member, said the alliance did that at his government's request as Islamic State militants, who have captured a large swath of Iraq and Syria, are trying to take the Syrian town of Kobani near the Turkish border.

"If there is an attack, NATO's joint defense mechanisms will be activated," Yilmaz told reporters.

Depends on what day of the week we're talking about.

Remember May 28, 1453! It was a Tuesday. One ancestor was killed on the walls at the side of the God Ordained Emperor Constantine XI Paleologus. The women were raped in our Cathedral of Agia Sophia when the demonic Turks rushed in. These were my bedtime stories. We never forget!

Thanks for that. Be headings, rape, pillaging. That was the pitiful end of the Byzantine Empire, over run by savages who called themselves civilized men. Constantine was a great hero, who threw himself into the fray at the end, even though his gesture was a hopeless one. Their sacrifice gave the fledgling West time to develop itself into modern nations capable of defending themselves. Otherwise what is now being done in the name of ISIS would have happened to our ancestors 600 years ago in Europe.
