However, they would only do so, he added, if there was a broader military commitment by Turkeys allies to create a no-fly-zone in northern Syria, a move the United States has so far refused to back.

Just like Russia, watching Germany and Poland during WWII.

With all due respect, Turkey is not sitting on the sidelines.
Turkey has actively engaged ISIS with:
Recruiting
Consular Offices
Transport
Ingress and Egress
Medical Facilities
Trucks
Transit for Benghazi weaponry from 0bama
So, you see, Turkey has not been on the sidelines. Methinks they’re hoping to be the seat of the next Caliphate, like they were for the last Caliphate (Ottoman Empire).

Connect the dots... Turkey will not bother to support their Kurdish areas since the Kurds have long sought an independent Kurdistan which would encompass Turkish territory! They will sit on their hands until massively threatened by ISIS (which WILL come in the future!} By that time, it will be too late!

There was a UK Daily Mail article with photos of around a dozen or more Turkish tanks, US M-48s or M-60s, right at the border with Kobane. From what I understand they are there to keep the Kurds from entering Turkey.

From the reports I have read there is going to be a slaughter of civilians in Kobane if ISIS succceeds. A genocide of the Kurds if you will.
I think this is what Obama wants as he has virtually provided no arms for the Kurds. Only the occaisional bombing. In fact he may be working with Turkey on this behind the scenes. Obama has blood on his hands. A lot of it.

The only reason Turkey gets away with sitting on the sidelines, is that the rest of the NATO members are silent about its inaction. All NATO members have large numbers of Muslim populations.
NATO cannot depend on Turkey’s reliability in its fight against Islam because ISIS is Islamic.

As the black flag of the Islamic State (ISIS) rose above the Syrian town of Kobane on Monday, the soldiers of NATOs second largest army stood and watched only a few hundred metres away.Hm, yes, saw the date of article is from October 7, 2014? Any more ISIS a'hole flags yet over Kobani more recently? If so, can only blame Obama & Erdogan Turkey.

Erdogan wants a no-fly zone so that Assad cannot use his Air Force to attack ISIS.
