Did some woman pee in your Cheerios?

No. Cleaned out a couple of bank accounts and walked away with one or two houses. But other than that ...

I guess nobody here besides you noticed that.

Apparently, the authors of this claptrap didn't. To them, it appears that creating the COBOL compiler is the equivalent of "creating the modern digital age."

Geeze, dude, what gives?

Like I said, I'm just tired of midgets standing on the shoulders of giants and admiring the view. I admire Grace Hopper. I truly do. But to claim that she -- or any other woman or any other GROUP of women -- "created" anything but a compiler is hyperbolic, PC, revisionist rubbish.

Everyone knows that credit for creating the modern digital age belongs to Al Gore.

Yay! You have redeemed yourself in every respect. ;-D

I get where you are coming from. I almost have to wash out my mouth with soap when I just say, "COBOL". Yuk!

Truthfully, I'd name K & R as much bigger giants in the computer field.
