Update at 2:49 p.m.: According to the license plates on the vehicle cordoned off in the CareNow parking lot, the vehicle is registered to a Dallas County Sheriff’s Deputy — a deputy who went into Thomas Eric Duncan’s apartment last week, according to a story that appeared on WFAA’s website earlier this week.
I’m guessing that Democrat Judge who went to the apartment for a photo op stunt is at pucker factor 1000 right now.
I can see Liberia/Sierra Leone from my kitchen.
How long before a mass attack using Ebola infected suicide bombers or bomb laden cadavers by ISIS or another terror group? Thousands could be infected this way.
And presumably anyone who thinks they are infected will seek out medical attention and be quarantined.
What really scares the hell out of me is what happens if ISIS or whoever sets out on a deliberate bio warfare campaign. Deliberately moving through the population.
You would think the family would have it first, but this could be one very unlucky deputy. I heard the deputies were told to help clean up the apartment. If he was ordered to clean up the apartment without the proper safety equipment this would make more sense. It's possible Duncan started staying away from the family and lived in one room when he was most contagious and this deputy was put in jeopardy when he helped to clean up. The CDC is a joke. Where were the procedures?
Supposedly, the custodian at the school was fired, because he bought hazmat equipment for his employees who cleaned the schools where the kids went before they were put in quarantine.

I am assuming it has been updated because the article now has a different headline and is now saying this was not one of the 48 being watched and is a deputy sheriff. He did not have direct contact, but had entered Duncan’s apartment after Duncan was gone... I am not convinced they even know how this is transmittable.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

I just came back from the other CareNow facility in Frisco (Don’t ask). While I was sitting there they were informed that the location where the possible Ebola case was, was closed down for the night, and will be closed for at least 24 hours while they decontaminate.
This is curious, since they did open up today a few hours after the patient left. Either they didn’t follow the right protocol and opened up again too soon, or there was some news about the condition or test results of the patient.
