Why is the rest of the world living in modernity while Africa is stuck centuries behind?
I went to school in the '50s-'60s and distinctly recall being taught that Africa was a "sleeping giant" but one day would be the future of the world.
I also distinctly recall my thinking that if that were true, the future they referred to had to be at least 500 years away.
So far, looks like I was right.
