The only thing that can really kill the ebola virus is bleach.

“The only thing that can really kill the ebola virus is bleach.”

Bleach kills everything from Ebola to jock itch. I had a theory on Ebola and viruses in general. Exposé them to extreme cold. At what temperature will the virus die at?

Huh? Bleach is not even the highest activity decontaminant against this family of viruses. What about glutaraldehyde, ortho-phthalaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide, formaldehyde, chlorine dioxide, peracetic acid, 70+% EtoH, iodophores (povidone, betadine), and phenolic compounds?

I will grant you that bleach is the most likely thing that a typical family will have around the house, but hospitals and labs have access to many of the compounds in my list, and they are quite effective.

Some hospital disinfectants can also kill it. Heat sterilization works, too.

Any method of sterilization used by labs and hospitals will work on Ebola.
