Today the Jewish calendar is year 5775; use that or be polite and gracious by writing 5775 (2014) or use the Chinese year or any of the following calendars:

So you think you have to be Christian to use the Gregorian calendar? I'm pretty sure the corporate world can't wait to have to convert their calendars every time they hire, fire, do business, etc. with Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, Bahaii, Muslims, etc. Using common calendar is simply common sense for reasons that have nothing to do with religion - so it's silly to tell Buddhists they should use "AD" when they don't mean it.

No one tells Buddhists they should use ‘AD’. Where do you get the idea that anyone is ***told*** they should use BC/AD? No one is told to use BC/AD in contemporary settings.

The present year is 2014 as adopted by convention; that’s what is used. All dates used in government, education, commerce and all sectors use 2014. 2014 AD is not used in contemporary business. The usage of 2014 CE is strange, duplicitous and blatantly revisionist.

Again there is no excuse for those that use BCE/CE. It is obvious they are engaged in a coverup by adopting a sham reference point. They could use the Jewish year with a polite reference to the present year 2014. No one is telling anyone to use BC/AD.
