I remember Sears and Roebuck with their awesome catalogs and the sold guns and everything, as did Montgomery Wards, and when J.C.Penney's carried tools, camping equipment and, gulp, guns too!

I too have fond memories of looking at guns in mail order catalogs. Alas, the GCA of 1968 killed that market.

I remember getting all our boy scout clothes and gear at Sears, and begging mom and dad to get some snow caps at the bulk candy kiosk in the middle of the store, I think it was all Brach’s candy, loved those jellied orange slices too. School clothes shopping was always at Sears, i hated having to get those Toughskins when everyone else had Levis, so not cool!
