Actually, I don’t care. Muslims killing each other, in a race to get to heaven? Fine by me.

I wonder if ISIS’ goal is to take the US Embassy by Election Day?

They were clowns. We should have known that after Gulf War 1.

Easy there big fella. This equipment was turned over to the Iraqi Army before we left the first time. The military plan was to have a cadre of advisers in Iraq to continue training the Iraqi and keep tabs on the equipment. Obama didn’t like that plan, he wanted to score political points by announcing a complete withdrawal before the 2012 elections.
Actions have consequences.

Yeah. I know I overreacted. I still don’t believe in leaving so many weapons that can fall into enemy hands.
The Iraqis should have destroyed the vehicles or had us do it when they were being taken by ISIS.

You need to take that up with the geniuses in the White House. We trained and equipped a new Iraqi Army. Our plan was to leave a cadre of advisers to continue to train and help maintain their army. Obama overruled his military leadership and pulled the plug. Scoring cheap political points is all the matters to him.

Okay then, it was Obama and his administration that allowed all these weapons to fall into ISIS hands.
I am okay when someone corrects me when I am wrong. I thank you for that. I prefer knowing and understanding what is true.

Exactly. I joined the Army in 1978. My Drills were ALL Vietnam Vets. LOVED those guys. They taught me so much. And I’m sure they’re none too happy about all we’ve been through, since.
Grrrrrrr!

That’s the great thing about this forum, I learn something new almost everyday thanks to my fellow Freepers.
The larger problem, of course, is that Obama will never get blamed for any of this.
