That is an insane prediction... but i hope its right!

It wasn’t long ago they were saying it would be impossible for UKIP to win any seats. To get even 30 would be remarkable!

Ya, I thought years ago, there were 2 major parties in the UK, the Conservatives and Labour. Then a smattering of minor parties. Sounds like this UKIP is developing into a major political party there.

Could we see a new major political party in America? Why are we stuck with just Republicans and Democrats? Other minor parties such as Libertarians have just never gained traction here. But why couldn’t a new party replace the Republicans eventually, for example?

It is insane. Its an extrapolation based on by-elections, and a very basic extrapolation at that. There is no way, and I mean no way, that the "minor parties" will pick up 71 seats. They will be lucky to get half that.

The truth is, with at least six months before the UK goes to a general election, an awful lot can happen. UKIP needs to keep up the momentum, and that's not easy for a young, media despised and generally underfunded party. I think for them to get 128 seats will be very hard. I think they may get quite a lot, but 128 is a big ask.
