0:00 to 9:40

All I can say is listen to this interview

TOPICS: Foreign Affairs
KEYWORDS:
Accordiing to this guy Faysal Itani, Turkey thinks the takeover of Kobani is not their problem. They're going to wait to see what happens and not get involved unless the conflict spills over into their territory !!!!

DID YOU HEAR THAT !!!!!

They are next door and the don't want to get involved, are not worried about Kobani falling and it is on THEIR BORDER

What the f'ng hell are we doing there? Why is this our problem. They guys says Turkey thinks this is our problem to solve.

Isn't anyone angry yet? Don't get it yet? We are their lackeys over there. Waiting to get orders either from Assad or Erdogan or whomever who will tell us who to bomb and when so that we can save some Muslims from other Muslims (but we don't have any idea why and it's not important ... we should just shut up and do what we are told).

That's what I got from this.

I am so mad I'm ready to explode. At this point I hope ISIS takes over Turkey, Syria, Iraq ... everywhere because none of those people over there care enough to fight for themselves ... each little tribe or clan want us to kill their little clannish enemies here and there and waste our money and our time and our people.

WHY CAN'T ANYONE SEE THIS. This guy lays it all out and he's actually smug about it. We're supposed to "negotiate" some kind of peace over there like this is our job.

Anger is pointless. I believe Turkey leaders are behind ISIS. Or at least play a significant role. There will be time to set things straight when we have an American government again rather than a muslim marxist one. Getting angry and worked up at present only hurts you and those around you. Keep your powder dry for the day it is needed.

Yes, I have had my doubts about Turkey wanting to take on ISIS at all. And unless Obama comes up with a huge bribe to Turkey or ISIS is dumb enough to cross the Turkish border, I don't think that the Turkish Army will intervene in Kobani.

The whole thing is what our British cousins call a "dog's breakfast."

The Turks are not appalled at the rise of the Caliphate. They aim to let it go ahead and perhaps succeed after which they mean to co-opt it and restore it to its rightful location in Istanbul. I suspect that the Sultan in Washington is cool with that. There may be an “understanding” to that effect.

Well I’m not going to be sent over there to die for these people, so you’re right, there is no point in my getting angry.

However, a lot of young people in the military ARE in harms way and I am not happy that they might be used like pack donkeys for no good purpose.

Why is this our fight? And why are we seemingly doing the various clans/tribes dirty work in what is basically clan warfare without end?

I don’t quite see why Turkey would need to be bribed to protect it’s own borders.

And even if for some crazy reason it does, why is it Obama’s (and our) job to do the bribing?

I guess I’m just not seeing what any of this has to do with us. Why are we involved at all? People over there don’t seem to be concerned until ISIS is right up on them breathing down their neck. And in the case of Turkey, not even then.

Why our fight? A good question, one I am not sure I can answer. I can only say that were I a young man without the responsibilities of family, I would be fighting with the Kurds. In this world there are many fine, wonderful people. They are generally peaceful and happy harming no one and giving of themselves. Asking only to be left alone, to live in peace. Beside them in this world lies, evil, hate and malice. Brutality boardoring madness. It is our responsibility to stand against this evil, each in our way. Sometimes that means standing on the wall to fight the darkness. Not all the petty evils of men for we all suffer them but the great evils certainly. Wish I could say it better.

Those are nice sentiments but I think you are mistaken about the Kurds.

They are the current focus of the fight. Although one could argue that DC is presently the focus of the fight. I do understand your thoughts. I don’t want our armed forces lives to be squandered by this worhhless administration for goals that are ephemeral, if there all goals at all. Our present government is not worthy of the service given by our armed forces. You know that and so do I. Rest assured that many others know it too and think like we do.

Turkey may be an indirect sponsor of ISIS.

Turkey wants ISIS to eliminate the Kurds. After that, they will wipe out ISIS...or so it’s been said.
