FRPR "onona" is also missing in action. Has not been active since 10/07/2014. His wife returned from Europe on 10/04/2014:

BREAKING: FReeper Onona's wife on NJ flight from Brussels with Vomiting Passenger removed by CDC

Got the wife home now. As you may have assumed, the situation was a true cluster eff.

Plane full of Liberians, many unaccompanied minors. Basically, they are fleeing their country to get here, sick OR well.

She was sitting about 6 rows in front of the guy, and the smell was quite evident from the sick.

CDC; Customs; they had NO PLAN.

Customs just kept telling everyone that directions were coming directly from the White House (now don't that make you all warm and fuzzy ?)

People had already gotten through customs when the started a panic announcement to all Customs agents NOT to process anyone from this flight.

The patient is still not cleared as free from Ebola.

They took names and numbers, and sent all the other passengers on their way.

Again, thanks for all your kind thoughts and prayers. I guess time will tell now !

There is no way anyone from the infected countries in West Africa should be allowed to travel, period.

how in the **** are the hospital personnel contracting this while supposedly in protective gear but Duncan’s family is not infected while interacting unprotected with his bodily fluids????

The "protective gear" was only gloves and a face mask according to another article. More stupid reporter tricks. It was most likely someone who saw him on the first ER visit where he was evaluated for four hours and sent to different rooms for whatever. No telling how many germs he left behind. Why those doctors and nurses weren't on the CDC's high risk list is beyond the pale.

With Louise's tribe still in the clear, it's proving out the theory that some West Africans may have built up an immunity or have certain genes. Americans don't have immunities so when it hits, it's going to hit hard.

From December 2007, Sheriff Seeks Leader Who Can Halt Illegal Immigration

Quoting FRPR "Mojohemi" - December 30, 2007

I love humanity but, the federal government is deliberately turning a blind eye on the dangers marching across the border. Death and Disease coming over the border and who would know the difference.

... it is a miracle someone has not been infected with a deadly disease and spread it all across America ...

... you also must speak out to stop the people that have not be checked by doctors from entering and Possibly spreading a plague in America.

The news article includes

"99 illegal [aliens] arrested [as ...] federal agents swarmed meatpacking plant"

"hog and chicken confinement plants ... promise a decent wage and better life"

Not necessarily so. If she has it on her gloves, for instance, she needs to take them off correctly without contaminating herself. Apparently not an easy thing to do.

Just great that a major hospital has basically shut down their ER

W and Laura live 3.6 miles from the hospital. Anyone seen him lately? Bet we hear he’s heading down early to his ranch to be there for the opening day of deer season. Or for added miles away, to Maine.

Someone said there were only 19 bio-hazard level IV beds in the whole country... (like the kind you see in some movies)

we might need more of those.

My tagline is from the CDC site. They’ve been changing and re-changing their meme so it’s probably been scrubbed.

From the article:

Ebola is actually very difficult to catch.

and a few lines down:

...many of those who care for the ill have also come down with the disease.

Emphasis mine.

"Very difficult to catch", eh? Now, I realize that in West Africa many a caregiver does not have proper protective clothing, and so on, but...

How encouraging...

Dr. Nancy Snyderman knows full well the danger, yet she hid behind sunglasses and went out anyway. She also claims it’s not airborne so flying is safe....

I wonder how the judge is feeling.

I wonder how the judge's wife is feeling knowing how little he regards her and their children.

Shut down the ER and you have basically shut down the hospital. Most inpatient admissions occur through the ER.

So while the CDC has said our health care system is capable of handling Ebola the reality is for each hospital that handles Ebola the possibility exists that it will take the hospital offline.

Hae seen mention that removing gloves & other gear at end of shift is when/how infections can occur. Even small scratches on hands can be the conduit.

There’s a right way to do it, probably a lot more involved than turning your dog poo bag inside out.
