Health officials struggle to control the media narrative about Ebola
The Hill ^ | Oct 12, 2014 | Elise Viebeck

The Obama administration is battling for control of the media narrative about Ebola as conditions worsen in West Africa and fears of an outbreak mount in the United States.

Health officials insist the virus will be contained and stress the potential for infection is remote. While Ebola is frightening, says Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Tom Frieden, health officials "know how to stop it."

The truth is all I need.

The commissars that run the CDC are more concerned about enforcing the one world/open borders ideology of Obama than protecting the health and well being of the American people. Science must conform to the politically correct delusions of the leader Obama. Reminiscent of Lysenko.

Perfect analogy here.

BTW, the article mentions AIDS which is really much different epidemiological, but is HIGHLY significant in explaining the Obama’s lack of response to proper quarantine and restriction of infected foreigners entering the country.

AIDs is driving our Ebola policy.

The Obama Administration is obsessed with homosexual rights and issues and the Obama Administration seems to be owned by the Gay lobby.

A huge part of the Gay agenda is to allow HIV infected gay people including people with full blown AIDS from all over the world the full and free right to come to stay permanently in the United States and receive free aggressive HIV/AIDS medical treatment supplied by the US Government and funded by the American taxpayers.

To accomplish this, the Obama Administration has quietly, under the radar screen abolished and erased much of the pre standing CDC Public Health rules on screening and admitting foreigners with serious infectious diseases into the country and has paved the way thorough ObamaCare to provide them with costly long term HIV/AIDs medical care.

They have also re written CDC Public Health and Emergency Response guidelines to conform to their political agenda and worldview which are in direct conflict with the medical and scientific realities of dealing with infectious disease and serious pandemics.

If Obama allows the Ebola to reinstate these vital public health polices and guidelines, his whole effort, which he has worked so hard to achieve , to turn the United States into a magnate for HIV/AIDs infected people world wide will be ruined.

By his actions, Obama has shown he is willing to risk putting Americans through an Ebola Epidemic in order to preserve the loosening of visa and travel restrictions to allow HIV/AIDS infected people full and free access to entry into the United States and permanent residence once they get here so they can be provided with free to them Government AIDS treatments at taxpayer expense.

We are seeing the fruits of those Obama polices unfold in the present disaster. The Obama CDC, by it's inaction and indecision, has allowed Ebola to break out into full epidemic in Africa, where previous American Presidents acted proactively and stamped any flare-up of Ebola in Africa before any epidemic got traction.

Now Ebola is coming here to America because Obama fundamentally does not want CDC to reinstate the AIDS screening of foreigners and refusal to grant Visas to foreigners infected with AIDs

One strain became airborne in Reston but was not lethal to humans. In the slum (West Point) there would be 50% dead by now. That would be repeated in other places in Africa with millions infected and dying. The 46 other passengers that landed with Patrick Sawyer would be infected and 1/2 of them would be dead instead of him and the woman seated next to him.

The strains we are seeing are not airborne except for the limited case of droplets.

You know, once upon a time, not so very long ago, most of the people in America, Dem or Pub would look at this farce and say...

“We are on the verge of a global Ebola pandemic in which BILLIONS of people WILL die...and liberals can only worry about controlling the media narrative. Not to avoid a national freak out, but to preserve Democrat seats in the coming election.”

But not today. Today, that kind of Capt. Obvious thinking is actually ridiculed.

It is true we have not seen the family since they met with Jesse Jackson. They have also not been interviewed directly since before the death of Duncan and at that point they just sent out their complaints through friends and relatives. But if they are infected it would be hard to hide that forever.

As well as to keep amnesty alive.

Once the normal American realizes Ebola may be coming through a porous border, no one will support amnesty anymore as the demand to seal the border will be made to protect us.

Review Richard Preston’s “The Hot Zone” and see that the public health officials will put politics over the safety of the citizenry. Much of their efforts were spent covering asses, rather than taking measures to contain the spread of a deadly incurable disease.

They sent a potentially infected person to Fairfax Hospital [which sits right beside the Capital Beltway] w/o telling the staff.

The only reason that outbreak did not spread to the general population at the time was that particular strain was only infectious to the particular species of monkeys. But pathogens have been known to jump to other species previously.

That is exactly, 100% correct, except that the "It's a Small World After All" ideology is almost universally accepted among the elected officials and leaders of BOTH parties.

If it were an Obama problem, it could be solved. But it's an Obama-Clinton-Bush-Dole-Boehner-McConnell-Rubio-CNN-WaPo-NYT-Hollywood-Network TV problem, which means it almost surely will NOT be solved.

You don’t necessarily have to breath in saliva from a sneeze or a vomit spray or a wheeze or even an normal exhalation which contains body fluid- but a droplet of fluid touching your skin or a surface that you touch then becomes a vector

Anywhere you can expect to find e coli you can expect to find ebola virus- and that’s pretty much everywhere on a normal day

why do you think shopping carts now have hand sanitary wipes?

Watch to see if any of the family take a govt-paid, govt-transported vacation to Atlanta in the next few days

You cannot TELL us those people in the apartment sharing furniture, carpets walls and bathrooms defeated ebola with bleach and a trained nurse in full hazmat gear got infected

The contrast could not be clearer: one health care worker (Jallah) with no protective gear, takes blood pressure, temperature twice, sits the patient up in bed, gives him hot tea. She is clear after 14 days as far as we know.

Later a second health care worker gets the patients virus-laden fluids on her protective gear, has to take that off very carefully and gets infected as she takes it off.

Obviously there are other ways to get infected, but widespread airborne infection is not one of them.

Whorld Health Organization: Ebola virus disease

http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs103/en/

Ebola virus disease (EVD), formerly known as Ebola haemorrhagic fever, is a severe, often fatal illness in humans.

The current outbreak in west Africa, (first cases notified in March 2014), is the largest and most complex Ebola outbreak since the Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976. There have been more cases and deaths in this outbreak than all others combined. It has also spread between countries starting in Guinea then spreading across land borders to Sierra Leone and Liberia, by air (1 traveller only) to Nigeria, and by land (1 traveller) to Senegal. ... and now in US (my add)

The incubation period, that is, the time interval from infection with the virus to onset of symptoms is 2 to 21 days. Humans are not infectious until they develop symptoms. First symptoms are the sudden onset of fever fatigue, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, symptoms of impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding (e.g. oozing from the gums, blood in the stools).

And check out the table of Ebola outbreaks and fatality rates at the bottom of the article

Yes but just because someone in your house has a cold doesn’t mean you are going to get it. What they say is they don’t have proof it can be caught by air, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t happening and I would say this nurse who got it certainly wasn’t messing with drops of blood or vomit. It sounds to me like as she was taking off her suit she breathed it in unless she had some open wound on her body. The bottom line is this isn’t “just like AIDS” as they were comparing it to. This can be caught much more easily.

Most likely in the nose or eyes. But it has to be a droplet, not just aerosolized virus. There is definitely a difference. Some nurses in Dallas would have had more viral liquids on them than others. It would be good to know how much she had. Was she tasked with intubating anywhere? Was she cleaning up the patient?

From Pigs to Monkeys, Ebola Goes Airborne (Nov 2012!)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3188602/posts

http://healthmap.org/site/diseasedaily/article/pigs-monkeys-ebola-goes-airborne-112112

“The piglets were then placed in a room with four cynomolgus macaques, a species of monkey commonly used in laboratories. The animals were separated by wire cages to prevent direct contact between the species. Within a few days, the inoculated piglets showed clinical signs of infection indicative of Ebola infection.

In pigs, Ebola generally causes respiratory illness and increased temperature. Nine days after infection, all piglets appeared to have recovered from the disease. Within eight days of exposure, two of the four monkeys showed signs of Ebola infection. Four days later, the remaining two monkeys were sick too. “

“But if they are infected it would be hard to hide that forever.”

That’s true, but it’s only necessary to hide it through the elections. Early voting is getting ready to start. A widespread panic would negatively effect the rats chances...
