Qatar promised $1 billion in reconstruction aid for Gaza at a donor conference in Cairo on Sunday, topping US and European pledges for the devastated Palestinian terror enclave.
"Qatar announces its participation with $1 billion for the reconstruction of Gaza," said Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, the foreign minister of the gas-rich country.
UN chief Ban Ki-moon told the donor conference Sunday that he would visit the Gaza Strip on Tuesday. "I will visit Gaza on Tuesday to listen directly to the people of Gaza," he said, adding he would also visit Israel "shortly."
The international community insisted that Hamas's Gaza is in a "humanitarian crisis," in a conference of more than 50 international and corporate representatives in Cairo on Sunday.
Hamas officials have already stated that the conference is a means of "proving" that war works in the "struggle against the Israeli entity," and have hailed the conference as a victory in the PR war against Israel.
But the declarations have not prevented global powers from taking the bait of legitimacy, according to AFP, and pledging money to Hamas and to the Palestinian Authority (PA).
"Gaza remains a tinderbox, the people desperately need to see results in their daily lives," UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon insisted Sunday.
The US, meanwhile, unveiled $212 million in aid to help Gaza, after pledging $47 million already in July.
"The people of Gaza do need our help, desperately, not tomorrow, not next week, they need it now," US Secretary of State John Kerry declared.

Talk about “shovel-ready jobs,” those high-tech tunnels don’t come cheap!
Any other sources that you find interesting?
Shouldn’t Gaza look something like Dubai by now? With all the billions dumped in that hell hole, they should have something to show for it.
Why, look! There is a pattern to your posting habits!

That’s so awesome. What is the reason for it?
Sure would make PA President Mahmoud Abbas really happy. His Swiss bank accounts will now dwarf Arafat’s.
The world has a surplus of nazis. But they’ll be eliminated soon. They have no idea what power they’re provoking. None at all Not even in their worst nightmares.
“.... topping US and European pledges for the devastated Palestinian terror enclave.”
.
(1) Why should the EU and USA have to pay for the damage done by others?
(2) What about the rest of this world — don’t they live on the same planet?
Something very screwy here.
is he going to inspect the new tunnel sites being funded?
And there’s a pattern to yours:

Four whole articles throughout 2014 to date. You’ve been a busy little beaver, Humble.
“Thats so awesome. What is the reason for it?”
I am making money hand over fist posting an occasional string of articles from A7. Nyahahaha. I must be stopped./s
Try this. Watch a movie. Ogle a pretty girl and play with yourself. Take a bath. Have a bee...oh, never mind. But anyway, get a life.
there's a real ROI for ya
Over 250 million innaid not to mention the millions spent in government agencies to monitor, support, and lobby for Hamas... err Palestinians.
Guess that indicates I'm not promoting anything, huh, chief?
Tell me, do, why Christians are substandard.
Why do you not post from Christian sources?
Why do you hate Jesus so much?
Why do you promote the denial of Christ?
Including "Arutz Sheepa" is fine, posting EXCLUSIVELY from there
kind of indicates that you are anti-Christian. What's up with that?
As for your allegation that I post exclusively from Arutz Sheva, sometimes I do. Sometimes I don’t. Depends whether an article catches my eye while I’m reading. If I see something interesting in a Christian newspaper, I might post it. But I don’t even know what you consider a Christian source. Is CNN a Christian source? Is FNC? What about MEMRI?
I quote from Jewish sources because I read Jewish sources, because I’m Jewish. The subject of Jesus rarely comes up in those sources, or at my synagogue, or in my home. He is the center of your religion. He is not even on the radar of mine.
While we’re on the subject, it is really nice that Christians have given up trying to coerce other people into converting to Christianity, the past two hundred years or so. Wish the Muslims would do the same. I can take pride that Judaism never even attempted it and in fact requires rabbis to initially attempt to discourage a prospective convert. People who do that sort of thing are the most obnoxious SOBs on the planet. One should attract adherents by example, not intimidation.
I do not hate, love, or feel one thing or another for your religion’s central icon. I don’t hate Buddha or Krishna, either. I’m not even sure if I’m up to hating Muhammed, most days, although I try to manage. In fact, I’m really not into the whole hate thing. I do despise a walking, talking horse’s ass, though. Seen one lately?
