The people of Iran are very pro-Western. Much more so than almost any other ME country.
It would change the dynamics of the situation and as it currently sits, a nuclear Iran is the single greatest threat to world stability.
“Pro-Western” means nothing. They have to be pro-US. Even a significant part of the so-called “West” is anti-USA because of the stance of many people here against socialism.
The Islamic Republic would not be able to stand without a significant percentage of the population being on the Mullah’s side.
Iran would only be a threat to the SAudis -- that's why the Wahabbi Saudis are running scared and getting the US to curb Iran
