Yes, seriously. Not one, not two, but three prominent media figures are floating the idea that Michelle Obama (and Bill Clinton, apparently) intentionally butchered Iowa Senate candidate Bruce Braley’s name seven times last Friday.
Let’s begin with the third hour of NBC’s “Today.” NewsBusters reports that during a discussion of Michelle’s name flub, co-host Willie Geist noted that Michelle would have had a teleprompter with Braley’s name on it. “But now he’s getting a lot of name recognition,” he pointed out. “Maybe it was like evil genius move, who knows?”
Meanwhile, Politico’s Hadas Gold independently reached the same conclusion on Twitter.

I’m pretty sure the voters of Iowa already knew his name. And now they know that Michelle Obama didn’t care enough to simply read the name on all of the signs that were being waved in front of her.

Maybe, MAYBE, Michelle is an opportunistic idiot like her husband. MAYBE she knows if she still wants to hang on to the lavish lifestyle she is use to she will have to perform like a good little puppet and make nice with candidates. The last thing Moochelle wants to do is pay for her own vacations and staff.

I don’t see how that could be an “evil genius” move. Even if it were a ploy to get media coverage for the race, it would have been done needlessly. The fact that the FLOTUS (although her claim to the title of “Lady” is disputable) is campaigning for you, would garner enough media coverage. What an absolutely ludicrous suggestion.
