I dunno... I live on the east/west axis of McGuire AFB(about forty minutes from my house). Today around 2pm I saw an inbound L-10 air re-fueler and that’s the first traffic I’ve seen in awhile. Three days after 9/11 the outbound traffic of L-10s and C-141’s was virtually non-stop. Always in flights of threes. C17’s and even a C-5A or two. Man is THAT plane big! When ever my wife and I saw them going over we’d say a prayer and shout “Get some!’’.
I watched the takeoffs and landings for humanitarian air drops in Afghanistan, going and coming, near a base in Germany. Near dusk, they’d take off. Return was early morning.
Makes me sad to think of it. Hadn’t thought of it in awhile.
