The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Apparently you don’t understand the purpose of a ping. One only pings people to threads they are not already on!

People are pinged when the pinger thinks that they have an interest in the topic of the thread.
You, sir or ma’am, have shown a vital ongoing interest is spreading the word on Ebola threads, that Ebola is not particularly dangerous and there is no danger importing Ebola patients into the US.
You have also strongly implied that you are ex-mil.
A thread that indicates ex-mil may be called up to fight Ebola in Africa therefore, as far as I know, intersects two of your vital interests.
It’s only fair that I give you a heads up that you, personally, may be affected by the contents of the article.
I’m torn between being concerned for your health, or pleased that you could now have an opportunity to prove the strength of your faith.
So, are you apt to be called up or not?

No, you post to people on a thread, you do not start calling people to threads that have nothing to do with you and have not requested to be on a ping list.
