I wasn’t.
Just a guess -— guy has prostitute come to his parents’ home, he gets what he wants, he refuses to pay, and pimp (who may have been waiting outside in a car) comes in and takes care of business.
The vic didn’t look half as weird as he turned out to be. Maybe a little gay. Or not.
An article with more details. The perp has two felony convictions, faces life in prison.

Daly City is right next to SF. Link at post #23 above has photo of vic. He does look gay .and the prostitute might be too.
I’m casting no aspersions on SF lived there 10 years, wish I’d never left.
So, he hired a hooker and didn't pay. My guess is that the pimp was her ride
and was outside in a vehicle when the date went bad. I didn't click the link.
Another article has more detail:
“Brackenridge’s mother watched the murder from the home’s sliding glass doors and called out as her son was shot. Spikes allegedly then shot the mother through the sliding glass door, hitting her in the abdomen, prosecutors said.”
“The prostitute who allegedly fled the scene with Spikes has since died, prosecutors said today, but details about her death were not immediately being released.”
SAD
Spikes and Brackinridge?? I don’t understand ,, those aren’t Filipino names... Amish?
I thought hookers always get the money up front first.
Care to expand on that? :)
...um, so I’ve heard ;)
It doesn’t appear that the sex of the prostitute was disclosed...
You would be surprised, but homos are a small minority in SF
They might be a small minority; but they’re “loud and proud.”
When I was working in Business to Business collections, we were only permitted to shoot the debtor if they were fully clothed and at their place of business. I guess consumer debt collections has different regulations.
It may vary from customer to customer.
I was born and raised there. Moved out of the Mission District when latino crime was getting bad, went to Daly City very near where this article was about. Hated Daly City and left within a few years (fog and boredom). Thing about SF is, it has actually gotten better recently. Quality of life is up, crime is down, high-paying jobs, lots of improvements. The queer population has dropped a lot lately. One reason the rent is highest in the nation is that people really like it here compared to other cities, despite democrats and their policies. It's location and weather, not anything the politicians do, that make it a good city to live in. Lots of children and baby strollers most everywhere you look now in SF.
HOW LOVELY to hear about baby carriages in San Francisco. That’s a very big change. I lived on Lake Street, with Mountain Lake Park as my backyard. One-bedroom apt with fireplace, hardwoods, bay windows front and back very cute place, was $450 in 1978. Maybe $4,000 today..There was a big steakhouse in Daly City that had excellent food and clientele that looked like characters in a Coppola movie. Is that place still there?
The People’s Temple idiots drank KoolAid a few months after I moved to SF. Cast a pall over the city, ominous, frightening. I was taking classes downtown at ACT, so knew some gay guys it was at the beginning of AIDS epidemic, before they knew what it was and how exactly it was transmitted. if AIDS was airborne I might be dead too .and I’m a girl. Rather an old girl now, thank goodness I lived to tell the tale.
Anyway, I very much miss the cultural advantages of SF, the scenery, the great little restaurants on Clement St, the OCEAN, and yes, even the fog. In a dry climate one’s skin wrinkles much faster. Alas.
