US Embassies in Ebola-Stricken Countries Processing Visas for Non-US Citizens (100 per day apply)
DAILY SIGNAL ^ | 10/16/14 | Rob Bluey

Posted on 10/16/2014 6:52:08 AM PDT by Liz

Despite the outbreak of Ebola, it is still possible to get a visa from the three West African countries at the heart of the outbreak, and a key congressman is demanding to know why.

Rep. Ed Royce, Republican-Calif, chairman of the House Foreign Relations Committee, sent a sternly worded letter to Secretary of State John Kerry about the Obama administration’s handling of the Ebola epidemic in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Royce said he was “deeply concerned” U.S. embassies in those countries were continuing to process visas for non-U.S. nationals despite the outbreak of the deadly disease.

An estimated 100 people per day are applying for U.S. visas at the three embassies, according to Royce. “Of course,” he added, “once these individuals are issued a visa by the embassy, they are free to travel to the United States.”

Royce urged Kerry to contain the Ebola virus “at its source” in Africa before any additional cases reach the United States.

“I was surprised that the Department of State has not already exercised its authority to suspend consular services, which is standard procedure in countries experiencing a major security disruption,” Royce wrote to Kerry. “This would be a prudent measure to mitigate the risk of Ebola exposure and contain its spread—a bedrock principal (sic) of health crisis management.”

Royce recommended the State Department stop issuing visas for non-U.S. nationals in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone as a “containment measure that may help mitigate the risk of further translocation to the United States.”

Always the sternly worded letter. I am sure Kerry is shaking in his boots.

The CDC is considering adding healthcare workers under observation here for Ebola to the no fly list

But, NOT the 4,500 entering the USA monthly who are from infected countries.

And how does this policy make any sense? Why would we allow people to continue to fly in from the “hot zone” if we are setting up a system to ban flying by those at risk of Ebola exposure here in America????

Thanks for the link. I have been wondering who it was that was responsible for Duncan’s Visa. I do remember reading that because of his background, status or something that he should have never been issued one. I’m surprised I’ve not seen anyone check that out more thoroughly.

It will interesting to observe whether this will change on November the 5th.

We know Obama would rather eat Michelle's boiled kale stems than have to face a Republican-controlled Congress. These words sent chills up my spine.....Obama confidently saying: "I don't think Democrats will lose the Senate." He K-n-o-w-s something. Let us pray.

=========================================

After two excruciating years of Obama...executive orders...amnesty.....Obamacare, ISIS, Ukraine, Bergdahl...the world imploding...Iran nuking up. Can a Dem win ANYTHING?

========================================================

Truth be told....I'm getting an eerie feeling of deja vu.......b/c we were all saying basically the same thing back in 2012...... He could not get reelected....he had famously flubbed the debates, his 2012 numbers were in the tank....and so on. Later we found out the conniving Chicago O-Team criminals fixed the election----all the dirty work done in crucial swing states.

Jerome Corsi's book also noted 2012 voter fraud was enormous....that we could not win in the future unless we had voter ID.

============================================

I do think Dummycrat voter fraud will be used extensively in Iowa---b/c if Dummy Braley loses, the long knives will be out for Michelle for screwing up her campaign appearance there. After all, now that she finally "likes" her country and has a bit of self-esteem after "years of oppression" in elite schools.....the Obama criminal vote fraud machine can't let her royal ambitions be tarnished.

What if Israel had a major epidemic? Would the state department still be issuing visas? Not on your life!!! But never fear, Israelis have no desire to leave Israel...

It is known he falsified official documents to slip into the US. At the onset, word was he was going to be prosecuted----as he should have been.

Then mind-bending PC kicked in---the lib/prog machine transformed him into a pathetic "victim-with-a-Heart-of -Gold."

So now Duncan's greedy/grabby heirs, smelling pots of money,---are suing anything that moves.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Repeating BS claims that immigrants crossing from Mexico are carrying ebola makes this site look nutty, and it ignores the real -- and serious -- threat elsewhere.

Oh, please. Mexico is the global gathering place b/c it's so easy to stroll across.

It has been officially verified that our southern border is being inundated w/ border-jumpers from 144 disease-ridden countries.......all of them being rubber-stamped in by Obama henchmen.

And how do you think someone with ebola would get to Mexico? Catch a flight from Liberia, Sierra Leone or Guinea to Mexico? There aren't any. Go to a Mexican embassy and consulate and get a visa? There aren't any in any of the countries currently affected. Border security is an issue and ebola is also an issue -- but they're different and unrelated issues.

It has been officially verified that our southern border is being inundated w/ border-jumpers from 144 disease-ridden countries.......all of them being rubber-stamped in by Obama henchmen.

144 disease ridden countries? Last time I checked, EVERY country is disease ridden. Can you name a country that isn't disease ridden? Also the 144-nation figure is of all persons apprehended by US Customs and Border Protection, not people coming across the Southern border.
