The mayor’s statement implies that her problem with the subpoenas is simply how they’re expressed, not with the principle behind them. Improving the wording and trying again is not the same thing as dropping the entire stupid, fascist project. She needs to do the latter, but the smart money will be on the former.
On the other hand, if she just adjusted her jockstrap she might feel better and drop the whole thing.
