As Ebolas arrival in America becomes a more pervasive story, some candidates in the 2014 election are weighing in on the subject. Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan of North Carolina took some time to say that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is giving us great guidance, but we've got to make sure the implementation is perfect.
Hagan Praises CDC's Handling of Ebola
These remarks come after a second nurse caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian citizen who became the first person diagnosed with Ebola in the United States, had become infected with the virus. The nurse, Amber Vinson, was about to fly to Cleveland from Dallas, but was experiencing a fever. She contacted the CDC about her symptoms. They told her she could fly on a commercial airliner because her fever wasnt considered high risk at the time.
So, it seems the guidance isnt greatand the implementation is far from perfect.
Earlier this week, over at CNSNews.com, investigative reporter Brittany Hughes got a rather interesting answer from CDC director Dr. Tom Frieden about Ebola's virulence. He said that you can't catch Ebola from an infected person sitting on a bus, but if a person is infected, they should not ride public transportation because they could spread the disease or something [emphasis mine]:
Dr. Tom Frieden, director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a telephone press briefing Wednesday that you cannot get Ebola by sitting next to someone on a bus, but that infected or exposed persons should not ride public transportation because they could transmit the disease to someone else.
...
During the conference call, CNSNews.com asked Frieden: In a video message to countries in West Africa that are experiencing Ebola outbreaks, President Obama told residents they cannot get the disease by sitting next to someone on a bus. But CDC recommendations state that travelers in West Africa who begin to show possible symptoms, or people who have experienced a high risk of exposure, should avoid public transportation, including buses. And weve also seen large amounts of concern regarding potentially infected people traveling on airplanes.
My first question is, did the CDC vet this video message before it was released and posted on U.S. embassy websites, and is it true that a person runs absolutely no risk of contracting Ebola on public transportation, such as a bus?
Yes, CDC vetted the message, and, yes, we believe its accurate, Frieden responded.
I think there are two different parts of that equation, he continued. The first is, if youre a member of the traveling public and are healthy, should you be worried that you might have gotten it by sitting next to someone? And the answer is no.
Second, if you are sick and you may have Ebola, should you get on a bus? And the answer to that is also no. You might become ill, you might have a problem that exposes someone around you, he said.
Given that our government once said that we could protect ourselves from a chemical or biological attack by buying duct tape, this confusionor lack of rationaleshouldn't be shocking.

Frieden might be replaced soon but all we’ll get is another
“Baghdad Bob”
Frieden is Obama’s Michael Brown.
everything I have heard has me worried as hell
CDC Advisory:
What to do if you contract EBOLA and feel nauseous:
Bend over, put your head between your legs and kiss your butt goodbye.

CDC's guidelines were totally inadequate and they had to rush out new ones. They basically plagiarized the protocols of Doctors Without Borders, who actually know what the hell they are doing.
Great guidance is easy. It's the condition fostering the guidance which is problematic. Great guidance is also end of life counseling according to these nut-jobs in charge.
That is guidance to live by!
Senator Hagan understands that the CDC is very busy and that they must attend to much higher priorities than controlling ebola which cannot expand into the United States in any event.
the CDC has received very reliable reports of high school students smoking in the Boys Room and they have been compelled to swing into action. Ebola will just have to wait.
Did you know that children who don't go to West Africa or get exposed to someone who contracted the EBOLA virus don't have to worry about contracting EBOLA?
Probably took a couple snorts of some of Hunter Biden’s coke.
Tillis should pound this idiot on this issue. The rats started it, claiming the GOP cut funding. If tillis is responsible for everything in Raleigh, then hagan can be responsible for everything in DC
Payback is a bitch
Another idiot who wants us to believe the CDC is ahead of this
One patient, now deceased, had to spend her last Thanksgiving/Christmas Season on the phone with insurance companies trying to get a new policy, while she was enduring chemo, radiation, and other indignities, despite her brave attempt to make the Season happy for her loved ones and friends.
Send Hagan back to her wealth in North Carolina before she does further damage in the name of Obama.
The point is that any North Carolinian who stays home and leaves a vote available to Kay Hagan deserves to live under the kind of political tyranny this Administration is imposing, with its Senate majority and Hagan's rubber stamping of every Obama wish.
Hagan cannot "run away" from Obama today, when she has voted like a robot for at least 95% of the legislation he, Reid, and Pelosi have inflicted on citizens. In her recent debate, she took on a "preachy" and "lecturing" tone very similar to, and more like that of the President, than that of a person who was running away from his failed style of leadership and the ideological policies of "redistribution" he imposes.
Her arrogant and highly condescending tone toward her opponent, Mr. Tillis, even dripped into her tone with the Moderator, reminding him time after time, like a 4th grader, that "the Speaker hasn't answered your question!" Her tone becomes as obnoxious to the ear as that of the President. That tone, on its own, is one thing, but her absolute devotion to the Reid/Pelosi/Obama government takeover of the lives of citizens says that she cannot now expect to "run away" from policies which the President himself asserts "are on the ballot."
Obamacare is unpopular with North Carolinians, and will become more so when the next deluge of cancellations and premium increases sets in. Hagan participated, with Reid and Pelosi, in that great fraud on her constituents and the rest of America.
Dumb as a Box of Barbara Boxers.
