Ebola has hit Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone the hardest because these countries don't have healthcare systems that are equipped to handle the disease.

And we do?????

Unfortunately, West Africa has reached the point where the only solution is isolation until it is over.

It should be a lesson to the rest of the world of what they need to do in their own countries.

Even shep Smith was telling us all today to calm the heck down.

Here is a map from APRIL.

I like this one. It shows the LABS (where they do bio-weapon defense research). It must be just a coincidence that they overlap the infected regions.

And here is a Fairly decent, almost up to date map.

I’m telling you, a bullet and a flamethrower. Harsh but effective. When we get to that point here we can thank the Klown for being so concerned about their economies.

The countries have have the most to fear from an Ebola outbreak area China and India, two countries with very high population densities and questionable sanitation conditions. Let's REALLY hope the Chinese and Indian governments know how to respond very fast, otherwise we'll have Ebola outbreaks that could make what is happening now in western Africa seem like a minor event.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

It doesn’t matter whether it was Ebola or not, it could have been.

Today, as Rush pointed out, the CDC director admitted that the reason that they do not want to close the air travel is because if these people cannot fly here, they will walk.

The CDC director said the first day of the infection in Dallas, that Obama had suspended the CDC protocols for protection from contagious disease, a year ago, because the protocols called for closed borders and health screening of all immigrants.

That's one acronym that just cracks me up. We need a modern day Abbot and Costello to do an Ebola routine:

Costello: Hey Abbot, you're a fan of viral diseases, aren't you?

Abbot: Sure! I love 'em!

Costello: So, whenever there's an outbreak of some horrible viral disease, you've got a top-notch group to handle it, right?

Abbot: Of course!

Costello: Ok, so we've got this Ebola outbreak going on in West Africa, and something needs to be done. People need reliable information, health care professionals need guidance about how to properly handle infected patients...

Abbot: Absolutely!

Costello: Right. So a guy from Liberia who knows he's been exposed to Ebola lies to Customs and shows up at a Dallas hospital projectile vomiting infectious bodily fluids all over the place, and you call... Who?

Abbot: Yes.

Costello: Yes what?

Abbot: I call WHO.

Costello: That's what I'm asking you! You call who?

Abbot: Certainly!
