B-1’s have been carrying out air strikes over Kobane. Obama has finally gotten somewhat serious.

I wonder how much of this the Sultan actually approved. I am sure that the first strikes were done without his approval and he was then briefed on the necessity of owning it. That is what the news of the sultan's limo ride, to I believe a press conference, would seem to indicate. His announcement that he was sending National Guard to Africa seems to be from the Army or DoD telling him he wouldn't get any more troops from them.
Maybe there is a little pushback going on. The Brotherhood may run the White House and the Departments but they have not got control of the Military yet. The Purge of the effective officer corps is ongoing but "reliable" replacements aren't in position yet.
