MURSITPINAR, Turkey Turkey will allow Iraqi Kurdish forces, known as pesh merga, to cross its border with Syria to help fight militants from the group called the Islamic State who have besieged the Syrian town of Kobani for more than a month, the Turkish foreign minister announced Monday.
The decision represents an important shift by the Turkish government, which has angered Kurdish leaders and frustrated Washington for weeks by refusing to allow fighters or weapons to cross its border in support of the Kurdish fighters defending the town. Speaking at a news conference in Ankara, the Turkish foreign minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, said that his government was helping the pesh merga cross over to Kobani.

Now they do it after the Kurds have taken 80% of the town and appear to be going for 100%. Reminds me of Obama leading from behind. I guess better late than never.
The Kurds will eventually get a state. Turkey would do well to grant the Kurds a homeland. They will be an important ally.
My thoughts also, Erdogan is a weasel of the worst sort.

I completely agree. No one deserves it more than the Kurds. Like the Iraqi Kurds have shown, they can be a stabilizing influence in the region.
Log this one in the “blind pig finding an acorn” section, but Biden actually had a good idea when he recommended pushing for a three-state Iraqi federation with the Shia controlling the south, the Sunni Arabs in the west and the Kurds in the north.
