A load of cr@p. People who write this twaddle weren't around in the bad old days when black people were really treated as second class citizens or even invisible. Today, how many black actors are stars? How many tv shows feature black people? How many black athletes have promotional deals with large corporations? How many black people live in upscale communities where they might not have been welcome years ago? And how many black children attend the same schools as white children?
I remember stories of how movies like Gone With the Wind and others which had black actors could not be shown in parts of the Deep South at all, or they had to be edited to remove scenes with black actors. I remember when Nat King Cole's variety show was cancelled because it couldn't get national sponsors. I remember segregation in housing and education and people not being hired for jobs because of their skin color.
These youngsters don't know what they're talking about. This country has bent over backwards to right the wrongs of the past and to give black people far more opportunities than their parents or grandparents never had. For crying out loud, we have a black or semi-black president now. If a huge segment of the black population won't take advantage of these opportunities, it's not the fault of white people or anyone else.
Time for the black community to quit the racism rhetoric and take care of themselves.
Prior to his murder of Nicole, how many whites would have refused to help OJ Simpson if he came to their door on a rainy night?
