U.S. military officials say they are investigating claims that Islamic State fighters seized a cache of weapons that were airdropped by U.S.-led coalition forces and meant for Kurdish militiamen.
A video uploaded by a media group loyal to the Islamic State showed a cache of weapons including hand grenades, ammunition and rocket-propelled grenade launchers. Their claims would appear to correspond with those of the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which said the militants had seized at least one cache.
U.S. officials said Tuesday they could not confirm the video's authenticity but are looking into the claims.

airdrops are not that accurate. half the stuff dropped at Arnhem in ‘44 went to the germans.
Its WAR—things like this happen. Go see FURY and see what war is like. We should be sending more than supplies—they need men to push these guys back.
The pallets have to be dropped off in large open areas. You can't airdrop large pallets on people's front porch.
The area is in turmoil and exactly who has control of various areas rapidly changes. It's more a matter of who gets to the drop area first.
A certain amount of loss is unpreventable.
Someone could airdrop a pallet of guns into a Walmart Parking Lot, but what matters is who gets to it first.
Even if every pallet hit it's mark perfectly, this area is a warzone and the battle lines have been changing rapidly.
I don't think our people screwed up. I think ISIS saw a bunch of parachutes landing in a large open field and laid claim to the stuff. It's not like they didn't know the stuff was coming. It's all over the news.
