Karl Rove has come under fire for masterminding the Bush Administration policy of hiding the discovery of stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Rove, along with Bush, had a policy befitting a schoolyard bully victim, and he no doubt believed the argument was lost and didn't want to reopen old wounds. Apparently soldiers in Iraq were under strict orders not to talk about the many canisters of mustard gas and nerve gas found hidden by Saddam Hussein's regime.
The principle argument in defense of this practice is that it was intended to keep these weapons out of the hands of the insurgents; the Administration didn't want the terrorists to know about them, to allow them to use them against U.S. forces.
This argument seems weak.
First, it was believed early on that the insurgency was an extension of the Iraqi military, planned in advance by Saddam and his top brass. While it quickly turned into a general uprising, with foreign fighters thrown in, many of those involved were from Saddam's military. Saddam likely understood he would have to wage guerilla warfare to defeat America's military power.

I want to know who exactly suggested this policy? Did it come from the generals? If so, who? Rove is now free to talk, and he owes us an explanation. I suspect he has none, because it was his own idea. This strategy was absolutely catastrophic; we have ISIS because of it, we have had the disaster that is the Obama Administration and all it has wrought, trillions in spending, socialized medicine, abuse of dissenters by government, open borders, etc. because of the upwelling in disgust for the GOP brand because of it. Karl Rove owes us answers.

What do Karl Rove and horse poop have in common?
Not much actually. The horse poop can be useful.
Like I have posted here many times. If Karl Rove isn’t getting paid million per year by the DNC, shame on him!
I don’t know how anyone could support Karl Rove now.
Good point. And if he’s not being paid millions by our other adversaries globally, it’s another shame on him.
This guy has short-circuited more opportunities than most Democrats on the scene today.
It’s sad that Dick Morris is looking like a genius comapred to Rove.
Rove lied. People died.
But ultimately, and sadly, it’s Bush’s responsibility.
WE ARE FOCUSING ON THE WRONG THING!!!
Strength or weakness of the approach aside, what were the PRIVATE briefings about the find? Did Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid get the real story? Were there classified briefings to Congress? Is there proof that the RATs lied their arses off in public with the full knowledge of the truth? THAT IS THE QUESTION and if the answer is yes, IS THAT NOT TREASON?
It turns out we couldn't even win the next election. By suppressing the news of the thousands of WMDs found, the Bush admin (thanks to good old Karl) hurt themselves and the Republican brand.
p.s. I was watching that awful Showtime serial "Homeland" the other night (the wife loves the show), and there was a scene where Mandy Patinkin's character was talking to some Iranian or Iraqi national. The Iraqi (?) character made a statement dismissing the CIA's plan to do something and then referenced "Bush's lies" (about WMDs) as the reason he didn't trust the CIA. I wanted to throw a brick through the tv screen.
KR served GWB 02/05/2005 as Deputy Chief of Staff, until 08/31/2007. I always believed that GWB’s presidency “went to hell in a handbasket” during his second term, and I believe that many concur with that assessment. I always wondered at the time about the actual source of all of GWB’s idiot actions, as to whether or not they were Bush’s ideas or Rove’s, although there is no getting around the fact that Bush had final approval.
After KR left the administration, one of his activities was as “informal adviser” to the McCain campaign.
Nickname used by George W. Bush:
Turd Blossom = Carl Rove
And yet, he never saw it. Amazing...
Rove lied to get his first job ... working for Democrats.
Just like Obola, actually.
