Military and police are vastly different and unfortunately, many, if not most, police departments have a history of corruption and a view of us against them. I would not argue about police forces being used against innocents, and I am staunchly opposed to the militarization of police and the recent arming of every federal agency. These are a clear and present danger.

That said, the military mindset and mission draws a distinct line between combatants and civilians. Yes, the top brass has been politicized, but that doesn’t translate down through the chain of command. Most line officers are decent, and the NCO corps is strong. You are mistaken if you think they would be willing pawns.

I think they should have one judge designated to these sodomites - a Muslim judge. Teehee - that would put a crimp in their same-sex marriage “laws.”

No law correct but ruling by SCOTUS that then challenged the law in NC on same sex marriage thus ruling the law unconstitutional in NC...started in legislature...went to SCOTUS back down thru state litigation....next step is to elect conservative legislatures and judges who rule constitutionally

I wish he would resist rather than resign. Make the county force him out.

It isn't so much the county forcing him out, as the huge fine and jail time that he could face for "failing to perform his prescribed duties" according to his oath of office. Nevermind the fact that the oath of office *changed* without his acceding to it.

Better to refuse all weddings, or to “schedule” all weddings for a personally convenient time

Doesn't work that way. Magistrates in NC are now REQUIRED to perform weddings, ALL "weddings," without any sort of recourse.

Not that I don’t believe you but then why do leftist Judges “legislate from the bench” with impunity? It would seem that if there truly was a way to go after judges I would have read about a lefty being punished at least once, given the frequency with wich they substitute personal opinion for law.

Agree. These fags/queers are contracting AIDS and the Army and other services are reporting more and more numbers of AIDS cases as the fags look for sex online. The nations VA hospitals are bad enough without adding this disease..

In this particular case, it's not a matter of legislating from the bench (though judges, including the one who started all of this, do that all the time). I forget at the moment the specific name of the department, but the central judicial office (or whatever) in Raleigh that oversees all judges and magistrates in the state sent out a nasty email last week to all magistrates in the state specifically informing them that there was no opt-out for conscience objection, nor were they allowed to stop performing all marriages. If they did, they could not only be impeached, but also fined and jailed.
