A doctor in New York City who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea tested positive for the Ebola virus Thursday, becoming the citys first diagnosed case.
The doctor, Craig Spencer, was rushed to Bellevue Hospital on Thursday and placed in isolation while health care workers spread out across the city to trace anyone he might have come into contact with in recent days. A further test will be conducted by the federal Centers for Disease Control to confirm the initial test.

Uh-oohhhh
A big congratulatory shout out to New Yawk!!! Welcome to the pahty pal!!!
Thanks for posting. I just saw the siren go up on Drudge. Health/life BUMP! Be prepared.
Obama couldn’t keep it quiet.
.
This cannot be. Michael Medved is mocking those who think Ebloa is worth worrying about and RINO radio would not mislead us.
That’s what my brother says, the Ebola Czar was appointed to keep this crap off the radar.
sad
from the NYT article-
“A person infected with Ebola cannot spread the disease until they begin to display symptoms”
I don’t believe this. If a surgeon were to operate an asymptomatic carrier and get stuck with a sharp, the surgeon would certainly be at risk.
May God protect him and heal him quickly.
Amen.
Korean news station say it’s in china. At least 50 dead.
Well, from Kelly on Fox he roamed around for at least a few days symptomatic without any consideration for others so I’m witholding my sympathy for the the time being.
I’m watching the same program. Dr. Snyderman also made a mockery of ‘self-quarantine’ protocol. If this does not convince people that the entire ‘self-quarantine’ protocol is not a reliable safety measure, I shudder at what it will take.
How did they get the results so fast?
Which test method was used?

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Had a Phone conversation this evening with an Older Gal that we know. Typical CA Liberal.
She asked if I was watching the New York Ebola News Conference. I told her no, it’s just the same old crap with the Powers that be trying to cover for themselves.
She replies, what do you mean, they are doing a great job talking about how they are handling it.
I said, well, if we had a Travel Ban in place we wouldn’t have to be dealing with this. I didn’t mention King Putt, which would have made further conversation unbearable.
She went into a litany of how great Bellevue was dealing with the situation, unlike that stupid Hospital in Houston. (We all know what she meant, the Red State messed up).
Let me put it this way, they just don’t see it. No blame is being put on President Obola or his Party.
When I mentioned that I certainly wouldn’t like realizing that I was sitting next to the Ebola Patient on the Airliner she did agree, but the obvious point that the Ebola Victim shouldn’t have been there in the first place never even came to her.
Another reason that I have absolutely no faith in the Electorate changing things on November 4th.
Ebola read The Hot Zone by Richard Preston:
Here is an excerpt from the book:
Then comes a sound like a bed sheet being torn in half, which is the sound of his bowels opening and venting blood from the anus.... The blood is mixed with intestinal lining. He has sloughed his gut.... The linings of his intestines have come off and are being expelled along with huge amounts of blood. ...Monet has crashed and is bleeding out Pools of blood spread out around him, enlarging rapidly...... Having destroyed its host, the agent is now coming out of every orifice, and is trying to find a new host.”
