Tried for ebola? It's insane that large doses of Vitamin C isn't tried for most every sort of serious infection because I'm fairly sure it does not interfere with other protocols.

Even as the authorities worked to confirm that Mr. Spencer was infected with Ebola, it emerged that he traveled from Manhattan to Brooklyn on the subway on Wednesday night, when he went to a bowling alley and then took a taxi home.

Makes it sound like he was tested THEN went and did all that dumb stuff.

“Yep. So he knew they were testing him for Ebola, yet he went out to a bowling alley after riding a NYC subway. Guy is responsible for anyone else in NY that gets sick, as well as the authorities for NOT QUARANTINING HIM when they had suspicion enough to test him for Ebola. What a joke.”

If this is true what is also true is the CDC and NYC health authorities do not have a clue about proper protocol concerning Obola. This behavior is criminal. It’s also karmic in light of DeBlasio’s statements of how NYC is prepared.

Yes, looks that way. But how on earth did he justify going bowling last night, considering his recent history?

“See I blame the administration, however this guy should know better.”

Yes he should have.

But you know what’s weird is the honor system is failing -with nurses and doctors!

just wait until a low info voter gets it -they’ll be having contact with others on a bigger scale.

He used an Uber car service to get to and from the Brooklyn neighborhood

LOL.

I never could understand how people would let strangers use their homes as a hotel or their cars as taxis. Like, you never know how clean other people are.

Or what germs they might leave behind!

I have to wonder. He has a fiance.....did they kiss, have sex? If so, she needs to be quarantined.

Wouldn’t it be good if NYers stayed home on election day though?

Just announced on CNN that the girlfriend is indeed in quarantine in hospital. I’m pretty sure the doctors found out that they’d had sexual relations.

Thank you, Jedidah.

As every reasonable person is, I’m very concerned about ebola; and I don’t think it’s a laughing matter.

However, I’m also concerned that some of the people in health care who have dealt with it, don’t seem to be taking the precautions that they should be taking; or else nobody is creating protocols for this.

It would seem to be a simple and natural precaution, to avoid public transportation and public contact for awhile, after returning to the US after caring for ebola patients in West Africa. The same for healthcare workers who attend ebola patients in the US. Some people have been extremely responsible.

My prayers go out to this man, and everyone that he may have been in contact with since coming back. I’m very encouraged by Nina Pham’s improvement, and pray that we can contain this.

There seems to be a crucial point of infectiousness - none of Duncan’s apartment-mates have come down with it, as far as we know. We also know that early care in the US, with our sanitary protocols and medical knowledge, has resulted in a very high cure rate (again, as far as we know).

I think we have great reason for optimism. My main concern tonight is that health care facilities may become overwhelmed: ‘Flu season is upon us now.

Apparently one of the first symptoms of active Ebola is an overwhelming desire to travel. :-(((

I think that makes sense psychologically, it expresses the desire to flee from the disease.
