I agree that travel from Africa should be tightly controlled. I favor sealing the borders of affected countries and flooding them with humanitarian and medical aid to get this monster under control, as much for our sake as for theirs.
I agree with you that the current travel and monitoring policies are ridiculous.
That said, that wasn’t what my post was about. Your ridicule of the victim, a doctor who had been serving others, was inappropriate.

And what’s crazy about taxis is in any given 12 hour night shift you can transport up to 100 people, that’s how many people he theoretically could have infected. And that’s just the taxi. That city is so insanely crowded now I will be highly highly surprised if nobody catches it. My brother still lives there and all the time we bug him to get the hell out. Many good practitioners and researchers believe vitamin C should be part of the treatment. Their experience should not be discounted.

They didn’t test him for Ebola until he became symptomatic and reported it today.
Prior to that, he was self-monitoring simply because he had been in the hot zone, which means taking his temp.
Was he told to stay in his apartment and not venture outside? We don’t know. If he was asymptomatic and following protocol, it’s wrong to blame the victim.
