If he did have a temp of 103, think of how many people would be affected as he decided to paint the town and all the panic that could ensue.

I disagree. I think they have more to gain by telling the truth. If he did have a temp of 103, then telling hte truth would help to stop/contain the spread (tell the public he may have been contagious on Wednesday night, and you can bet that the people at the bowling alley or on the subway would be getting in touch with health officials ASAP).
If, on the other hand, he had a temp of 103 and they were lying about that, then the chances of additional infections would increase, and the ability of officials to track the disease would decrease.
Which do you think would cause more panic?
