So we’re back to the chip theory. Or some other theory to “direct” the mentally ill. And to say that Obama was careful not to touch gun control until safely elected.... What better time for Sandy Hook for 2 weeks BEFORE the election? When it could have impacted the election. But it happened afterwards. The legislators were already in place, and passed absolutely nothing. Your theory makes zero sense.

If you’re going to espouse conspiracy theories, at least make sure they have some level of plausibility.

Thanks for the reply and the opportunity for me to express my opinion. While we still may ultimately disagree, it's great that our host, Mr. Jim Robinson, has provided this venue for a such dialog.

In my opinion, being a true Southerner is not defined by the food you favor nor the place you happened to be born. I think that it's the values one has that account for the measure of the man. And those values coincide with those of FR: pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-military, pro-freedom and anti-sodomy.

I'll focus on Texas, which I do consider a Southern state. Take Lyndon Baines Johnson (please!), Scott Pelley, Domingo Garcia, Dan Rather, Bob Schieffer, Jim Wright and Chet Edwards to name but a few. All were fortunate to have been born here but, to my way of thinking, none are true Texans. They're leftists to the most extreme extent and don't embrace Conservative values. On the other hand, who deny the authenticity of Ted Cruz's Texan-ness (to coin a term) in spite of being born in Calgary? Likewise, another Ted, Ted Nugent, personifies what it means to be a Texan, pro-America, hunting, hatred for communism and so on.

In short, mere location of birth, accent or food preferences (unless they are vegans) don't define an Texan. It takes a lot more than that. And I think my points also apply to the South as a whole. That's why Shep Smith, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton aren't Southerners to me since none cherish Southern heritage and all repudiate the values of the South.

I’ve started watching NewsMax news, it’s relatively low budget compared to the others but I think they do a good job, so I’m barely watching Fox anymore except when Newsmax does not have news on. Newsmax is channel 349 on direct TV. It’s lowkey, the Blaze was okay when I have seen it. I didn’t want to change satellite providers but I didn’t make the decision.

Baldwin said she’s been just handed a paper with new information, which she will read on the air. She asks for viewers to, quoting, “bear with her,” as she reads it “cold.” She reads: “Marysville Police will be holding SWAT training today —” Baldwin then interrupts herself, and states, “Oh. This is from yesterday.” Later, the host announces, “initially, students thought this was a fire drill.”
