lol, I don’t even agree with that. “Score” and/or “winning” is but one “take away” from a football game. Of course a liberal cannot process common sense so, like you say, game over.

I remember in th 7th grade my team I was playing on got beat 86 to nothing. In the 50+ years since, I’ve remembered more from that loss than all the wins!

Sheer lunacy!

I can recall when I played LL b-ball...we were playing the best team in the league and we didn’t get past the 2nd inning...every player on our team pitched...but we just didn’t have it...eventually time was called as we were supposed to finish by a certain time for the next game.

To this day...I remember we got our a$$es handed to us...49-0.

And the coach was apoplectic...didn’t do much to inspire confidence in the team when he walked out to the mound berating the “pitchers” for pitching like crap...everyone of us got the privelege of experiencing his coaching “style” up close and personal like.

Just this week TCU put up 82 points...yet, the game played on until 60 minutes was up...I hear what you’re saying.

If kids aren’t taught to finish a game at this stage, it’s hard to instill it later on...

There are numerous ways to deal with something like this...but as I’ve perused the thread, I’ve gotten a bit hardened to the mercy rule as it has been applied in this situation.

I wouldn’t let my son play in league with such “rules”.

The coaches could have met at mid-field and discussed a different approach to the rest of the game...but it wouldn’t have guaranteed a different outcome.

“Then put the ball on the ground and dance around “

From the story it appears their whole team was in on the antics. Falling on the ground and taunting the losers.
