Police are investigating after a man reportedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a Long Island Rail Road train after brutally beheading a woman on Long Island Tuesday.
A woman in her 60s was found dead on Secatogue Avenue in Faramingdale, near the LIRR station, officials said.
Witnesses say she was the victim of the beheading. They told PIX11 News they originally believed it was a Halloween prank.

Someone should tell the media the dead guy won’t sue them if they drop the “allegdly” from their articles about his crime.
WPIX Channel 11 is a real TV station. It’s NYC’s second oldest (formerly) independent TV channel. PIX is old school news talk for pictures, and refers to the channel’s original owner, the NY Daily News—NY’s “Picture Newspaper.”

I understand jumping in front of, jumping off of, running into, and other terms for moving your body a certain way. But I have never understood throwing yourself. Was it an overhand curve, or an underhand pitch?/S

"Witness posting on another site says the man hit by the train did not decapitate the woman. He tried to intervene and was chased by the killer into the path of the train. The killer had a machete and was shouting in Arabic. He apparently fled the scene.

He yelled some arab stuff, and went crazy...then chased some other guy who came to help...he ran away because the guy yelled some arab stuff and chased him swinging the bloody machetter ....there are like 3 dead bodies this has been going on since 9:15 PM today...2 people got hit running from this crazy muslim who got away during the madness!!!!

Nick Gordon, who lives on the second floor of the two-story apartment near where the slain woman’s body was found, said he didn’t hear any screams but went to his window after seeing flashing emergency lights.
Gordon said when he left his apartment unit to go downstairs to assess the commotion, he first saw a trail of blood on the tile floor that continued down the stairs to the front door.
Jack Imperial, 41, of Queens, said about 7:50 p.m., he got into a cab at the Farmingdale train station and headed toward Secatogue Avenue, where he said the driver and Imperial saw a severed head on the right in the roadway and a decapitated woman's body on the left, on her back and fully clothed.
A night dispatcher at Yellow Cab in Farmingdale, just up the street from where the body was found, said at first his drivers "thought it was a Halloween prank. But after speaking with police, the drivers were told, 'Yes, it is real,' " said the dispatcher, who asked not to be identified.
At 1 a.m. Wednesday, police flood lamps lit up the night and several Nassau investigators continued to hunt for clues behind yellow crime scene tape. Since the other beheading (in Oklahoma) was also a woman in her 60’s, it would seem that those sweet defenseless women in their 60’s (like ME!) should be armed to the teeth, (like ME).
As we get older, and gravity takes its toll, we got PLENTY of places to conceal!

I think the "alleged" is describing the possibility that maybe someone else did it, not that the head isn't completely severed.
