Democrats claw back in key U.S. Senate Races
Yahoo News / AP ^ | October 28, 2014

In the sprint to next Tuesday's US midterm elections, new polls show some besieged Democrats holding their own, complicating the narrative that Republicans are on track to seize the Senate majority.

Alaska in particular bears good news for President Barack Obama's party: two recent surveys show incumbent Senator Mark Begich with a substantial lead, the first polls in a month to put him ahead of Republican challenger Dan Sullivan. Alaska-based Republican-leaning firm Hellenthal and Associates released a poll Friday putting Begich ahead by 10 points. Late Monday, Ivan Moore Research group released an October 24-26 poll on Facebook showing Begich with 48.3 percent and Sullivan 41.6 percent.

The results were significant enough for The New York Times to shift Alaska from likely Republican into the "toss-up" column, joining Georgia, Iowa and Kansas.

In Iowa, a Loras College poll of 1,121 registered voters put Democrat Bruce Braley up by one point against conservative Joni Ernst, countering a recent trend showing Ernst ahead in their tight race. A YouGov poll put the pair even at 44 percent.

In Arkansas, Democratic Senator Mark Pryor has narrowed the gap to two points against Republican Tom Cotton, 43-45 percent, according to an NBC News/Marist Poll.

Three Democratic seats -- in Montana, South Dakota and West Virginia -- will almost certainly flip Republican.

Top election forecast models show Democratic incumbents trailing in Arkansas, Colorado and Louisiana, and barely holding on in North Carolina and New Hampshire.

Republicans could face trouble in traditionally red states Georgia, Kansas and Kentucky, where Democrats -- and in the case of Kansas, an independent -- are hoping to pick off one or two seats.

This is the reason Yahoo puts out this article. They know you’re going to read it, see the polling numbers trending for Dems, and you’re going to panic and give up. I understand where everyone is coming from. We know the Dems cheat and will cheat on a massive scale Tuesday but what can we do? I’m just going to go out and vote and hope for the best. The fact that the Dems are racheting up the war on women and race baiting rhetoric even more this election cycle than usual gives me hope that even vote stealing won’t save the day for the scumbag Democrats this time. For goodness sakes, don’t start throwing in the towel yet!

Wow, so now when we find out the Dems keep control of the Senate, WE WON'T BE SURPRISED!!! THANKS, YAHOO!!! WHAT ELSE DO YOU KNOW ABOUT THE MAGNITUDE OF ILLEGAL ALIEN VOTER FRAUD THAT YOU'RE NOT TELLING US????

'Organizing' a mass invasion of the U.S. at the Southern border involving Mexico, Central American countries, and thousands of people and NOT ONE PERSON TALKS ABOUT WHO IN THE UNITED STATES ORCHESTRATED THIS SO IT'S NO WONDER THEY CAN ORGANIZE A MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD CAMPAIGN, USING ILLEGAL ALIENS AND KEEP THAT A SECRET AS WELL.

Gardner, Sullivan and Tillis are pro amnesty. Joni Ernst should copy King and Grassley and pick a fight with Chuck Schumer to turn out more GOP voters. Pat Roberts is the only anti-amnesty candidate trailing. His problems stem from his beltway insider lifestyle.

Why Tillis doesn’t feel comfortable bashing amnesty:

“The other thing we’re going to do is send a very clear message to Washington that they can make our job a lot easier if they would deal with the issue that they’ve kicked down the road – Republicans and Democrats – for many, many years.”

August 2013: The GOP governor accused High Point area manufacturers of backing a bill McCrory vetoed that allows employers extra time to verify the legal status of a worker. The N.C. General Assembly this week overrode McCrory’s veto from earlier this summer of legislation that extends from three months to nine months the amount of time an employee can draw a paycheck without having his or her legal status cleared though a federal database known as E-Verify.

Tillis said the immigration bill was designed to help alleviate the problems that employers in the state face because of federal immigration procedures and policies. “The regulatory burden and complexity caused by federal inaction requires us to consider stop-gap measures while we wait for politicians in D.C. to take action,” he said. “This bill received strong bipartisan support and sought to provide clarity to employers and agencies regarding the impact of illegal immigration in North Carolina.”

Steve King is leading by 12 points in Iowa’s 4th. Much bigger lead than the Democrat lead in Iowa’s 1st and Iowa’s 2nd.

RINO David Young is in a tight race against liberal Staci Appel in Iowa’s 3rd. He could cost Ernst the race.

They support big spending RINOs like Murkowski and Don Young.

Don Young won’t have a problem with his apparent gaffes. He is a big spender that is all that matters.

Murkowski has been in OR with no-chance candidate Wehby. Wehby is at 35% and the anti-illegal ballot measure is at 60%.

These are public polls, with either media ownership or significant control. They use these polls to suit their own purposes, either agenda or financial and are released to that end. I don’t pay much attention to them no matter which side they support. After showing the Republican trend, they can now put out a poll to influence the clueless vote and try to have it both ways. These polls say nothing about the effect of mail in ballots or early voting - that information will largely be unavailable until after the election and certainly can’t be measured by a poll anyway.

The election is going to be close. The trend is in our direction. There will be surprises. Voter fraud will play a part in those races that are very close. Watch you lanes and be sure to vote.

I’m predicting at least one “upset” on each side.

Sticking our heads in the sand and pretending that all is well is why we’re in the mess we’re in now. That’s why the DemocRATS have a Ground Game and GOTV effort that leaves us eating their dust. So, we sit back, ignore reality and find ourselves in the freakin’ “Lost” Column again on Election Night. Now, go watch “Wheel of Fortune”, drink your prune juice and go to bed.

we are out of time , the game is over
to think that this can continue is fooling yourself .
there have never been times like these

fortunately in WW2 our leadership chose to do the right thing . This current consistently does not and it endangers the future of our country for us all . 100%

The Constitution can be returned to once things are sorted out . This current trend of anti-Americanism from within must be broken , Entirely .

Karl Rove....
“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.” Cicero

and

” True patriotism sometimes requires of men to act exactly contrary , at one period , to that which it does at another , and the motive which impels them – the desire to do right – is precisely the same . The circumstances which govern their actions change ; and their conduct must conform to the new order of things “

* Robert E. Lee *
