How far does the governemtn go regarding quarantines? When does due process become necessary? What if I have the flu (remember, it killed hundreds of Ks back in the early 20th century)?

If ebola scares, what about HIV? What about another 100 or so known infectious diseases? What are the Q rules for them? Are there any? I have been looking, but so far not much policy on any of these issues.

I have mixed opinions on this. Hope most of us do, otherwise we are only one policy away from totalitarianism.

Just saying....

I would think that you would have to submit to the quarantine and that the government has police powers to enforce it under public protection.

The person being quarantined would file for a writ of habeas Corpus, not remain free in the meantime riding bikes with boyfriends, riding buses, or going bowling. Otherwise you leave these medical decisions to each person rather than public health officials.

Until the hearing I would think the safety concerns of protecting people from infection and death would trump your right to walk around as you chose.
