In a brazen attack, a man wielding an ax tried to hurt a D.C. police officer early Friday morning, striking his vehicle and getting into a struggle with the officer.
The officer wasn't struck by the ax, but he was injured in the altercation that followed as he tried to tackle the assailant.
The suspect got away, said D.C. police....

Maybe it was the windshield - side windows disintegrate.
Cars have laminated glass windshields. The plastic holds the glass in place. The other windows are tempered glass.
Isn’t that “assault with a deadly weapon” on a police officer? Granted, there was glass between the officer and the ax but lucky it was safety glass.
I think I might have done an “Officer Wilson” on the attacker and shot him dead.
Good for him getting the door open and chasing the miscreant.
Also...looks like a new axe...maybe still has the store bar code on it....at least could find out when and where it was stolen.

The Obama administration has issued new exemptions to a law that bars certain asylum-seekers and refugees who provided “limited material support” to terrorists who are believed to pose no threat from the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security and the State Department published the new exemptions Wednesday in the Federal Register to narrow a ban in the Immigration and Nationality Act excluding refugees and asylum seekers who had provided limited material support, no matter how minor, to terrorists.
“These exemptions cover five kinds of limited material support that have adversely and unfairly affected refugees and asylum seekers with no tangible connection to terrorism: material support that was insignificant in amount or provided incidentally in the course of everyday social, commercial, family or humanitarian interactions, or under significant pressure,” a DHS official explained to The Daily Caller.
Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson and Secretary of State John Kerry signed the exemptions. DHS contends that the law change is “commonsense” and that immigration procedures will remain the same in other respects. (Excerpt) Read more at dailycaller.com ...

The silver lining to these incidents is that self-preservation will prevent police from taking the politically-correct course (heads in the sand) and start killing these people.
If these freaks are opposed to “the system”, I’d rather see them attack the government and its representatives than office workers (as in the WTC) and schoolchildren (as in Beslan, Russia years ago).

Note to police: If you see a scruffy looking man in an urban environment, carrying an axe, remember that the Tueller distance is in effect, and you should verbally engage them at a distance, while being prepared to shoot.
