I detest Bill Clinton as much as any FReeper but make no mistake, the man is gold with Democrats, he’s held in a level of esteem approaching our own reverence for Ronald Reagan. He’s not a stiff who prattles on with obviously canned talking points as so many other, current Democrats are wont to do. He’s folksy and quotable, at ease and comfortable in front of his crowd. He can drag Kay Hagan across the finish line unlike practically any other. It will pay to counter him.

It’s obvious to me through his choice of topics, that the national Democrat party is concerned about losing the black bloc and not just in the instance of Hagan. Not that they’re going to turn Republican because they aren’t. But, this bloc can vote with their feet and fail to turn out. There are a number of indicators that would seem to point to just this, black voters failing to turn out for the Democrats.

Driving the point home that Democrats have not just failed to benefit this key voting bloc of theirs, that they’re actively and aggressively acting against their interests, will bear fruit. The biggest single problem that they have in this regard is illegal immigration. Black voters hate it as much as any FReeper who doesn’t have a vested interest in cheap labor. But, pursuing this poses a problem because the Republican party appears to have been captured by these same interests.

If Republicans want to win, go there. Just my opinion as an observer of NC politics.
