Why You Shouldn’t Vote

Look, I’m not going to lie to you – your vote matters. But let’s be honest, there are Republicans on the ballot who aren’t very conservative. Most of them don’t agree with me on everything and surely don’t agree with you on everything. In fact, many of them are downright awful.

So if you find yourself in a state where the Senate race is close, and you don’t like some of the things the Republican candidate stands for – just stay home.

A message must be sent: We conservatives could not beat all the people we don’t like in the primary, so we’re not going to vote.

That’ll show the establishment. That’ll show the country. That’ll show the future.

So if you’re a conservative in Colorado, don’t vote for Cory Gardner. If you’re in Iowa, show that Joni Ernst what’s what! Live in North Carolina? Who does that Thom Tillis think he is, anyway? From Kentucky? Let Mitch McConnell know who’s boss! Georgia? David Perdue? I don’t think so. Kansas? Teach that Pat Roberts a lesson! Live in New Hampshire? Scott Brown – yuck, am I right?

Look, if conservatives don’t draw a line in 2014, when will it be drawn?

Just because tea party and conservative candidates couldn’t win a majority in primary challenges doesn’t mean they aren’t the majority. It was dirty tricks and the establishment that screwed you … everyone knows that. So show the establishment you won’t take not getting your way anymore.

Honestly, what’s the point of voting for a candidate who agrees with you a majority of the time? Don’t vote. Let someone who you agree with on nothing win, and then next time – in six years – that person comes up for reelection, maybe the Republican Party will come to its senses and let you get your way.

I mean, what would be better for the country – Harry Reid or Mitch McConnell as Senate Majority Leader? Obviously Harry Reid. Mitch McConnell is a squish on a few things, wouldn’t run blocker for President Obama and wouldn’t be a rubberstamp for any Supreme Court nominee, or any court, for that matter. Where’s the lesson for the establishment for that?

Sure, I know, the country will have a court system packed with activist judges, and the president will use his magic pen and phone to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens and who knows what else, but principle will be maintained. That’s a moral victory, right? Those count for something in politics, right? They have to count for something…

Of course, they count for nothing. Yet that nothing is what many millions of Americans, including many of you (judging by comments on other columns in which I’ve dealt with this topic), are prepared to vote for by stubbornly refusing to vote for a candidate who isn’t “your candidate.”

Sorry, your candidate lost, and your remaining choice sucks. I get it, I’ve been there. But so what! Get over yourself. Everyone who voted in the primary and your choice lost. It happens. It’s part of life. So you’re just going to quit?

If you want to right the ship of state, how did you think that would work? Your one chosen candidate would somehow undo half a century of constitutional disregard in 20 minutes? Of course not. It’s all going to be incremental. Nothing this big turns on a dime. But before it can get any better it has to stop getting worse.

Harry Reid remaining majority leader in the Senate means things continue to get worse. Barack Obama packing the courts with like-minded judges means things will continue to get worse.

There will come a point of no return, where we will tip over that ledge from which there is no coming back. If you stay home, or you cast a “message” vote for some third party nothing-burger, that’s what you’re voting for. That’s what you’ll get, and that’s the country you’ll be leaving for your kids to inherit.

A vote for anyone other than the Republican, no matter who that Republican is, is a vote for Harry Reid and Barack Obama.

You want to purge the party? Do it from a position of strength. I’m all for a battle royale for the soul of the Republican Party, but not until AFTER the Democrats are vanquished.

Tuesday, go vote. Vote for the Republicans. Send a message that you are not a moody, unreliable person who will take your ball and go home if you don’t get your way, but that you accept your party’s primary decision. It’s a decision you don’t like. It’s a decision you’ll fight in the next primary if necessary. But for the good of the country, you’ll live in “now” and work for the future.

Anything else is a vote for progressives, and anyone who does that is no conservative.

No, there were several other options on every ballot in America. You lie. There were other options and you chose a liberal then argued about it while others admitted they had made a mistake.

Hillary has more conservatism than Romney on her record including being in office opposing Gay marriage. That is a fact. Mitt was supportive of gay everything. Thats a fact. Jim had Mitt’s record posted on FR for years. That’s a fact. Mitt is more liberal than Clinton. that too is a fact his record bears out.

Bill Clinton was EASILY more conservative as president than Mitt as Gov. So your logic says vote for Bill OR Hillary over Mitt.

Do it.

Can you read Finny? Normy CLEARLY STATES
“ Hillary has more conservatism than Romney on her record “. THATS when the Beast entered the conversation, and Normy added the Stain as well. So either you can’t read, or you are a lying POS. Pick one. And for a group that tosses around slander calling other Freepers names ALL THE TIME, your getting butt hurt about it is hysterical.

You are a RAT and do not belong on this board, Finny. ((Zot))

So, Max -- since you're all for zotting me based on your outright lie above (I am in truth a limited government Christian conservative who voted straight Republican ticket in every election for nearly 40 years except 2012, which I voted mostly Republican except in that I refused to vote for functional leftist Romney, and still do refuse to vote for functional Democrats in Republican jerseys) ... how much have YOU donated to this quarter's FReepathon?

If you haven't donated in the three figures yet still are here advocating that conservatives vote for candidates who support the RAT agenda (which is what you are doing), then maybe YOU are the one who should be zotted. Fortunately for you, Jim Robinson is infinitely better and smarter than you, Max.

By the way Fraudulent Finny, using the “all” tag, REALLY?
You must have quite the opinion of yourself to think EVERYONE on FR is waiting with baited breath for your next flatulence.

Meanwhile in the REAL World, actual conservatives are working hard to try and win the Senate, and add to the House and Governorships.

I am in truth a limited government Christian conservative

And yet here you are, advocating that Conservatives do not vote.
You are as un-American as it gets by doing so. No excuse or bolstering
will mask how wrong you are to promote such a defeatist strategy.

I wonder if the democrat party would welcome committed Christian conservatives.

Since they are the party of abortion, unnatural marriage, unnatural sexuality, hatred of personal security, love of big government, and apathy toward national security, then I doubt the democrats will become the party of Christian conservatives for 100 years.

My use of the John the Baptist analogy had a dual intent.

First was a looking forward to the return of the Lord.

Also, a call to speak the truth aloud and visibly. Perhaps God will grant others to hear.

Nowadays, I am 68 years old and disabled.

I too am 68 years old. I'm not disabled and am sorry that you are. But, every bone in my body aches after working 60-70 hours per week since I was 13. Not compiling however.

Currently,I own my own business and create products that are copied world wide--once again not complaining, it is what it is. Along with building fishing rods both here and in Haiti I was an on-air broadcaster for thirty years and wrote for numerous different newspapers for over 30 years including a major driveby for 11 years.,p> I have made a few posts here on FR and a number on about a dozen other websites which I constantly post on trying to get wayward conservatives who are willing to have their vote canceled out by an illegal not to do so.

My success rate is good but like our candidates never 100%. I am in charge of a precinct in my county and a member of our county Executive Committee. Our Republican base in our county though small is very conservative and we have been able to attract many big names to our annual fund raisers which we raise pretty good money every year for local candidates. Here on FR I have helped promote our TV talk show thread week after week and we have been successful in uncovering many stories that the DBM ignores. If you want more info there are about 50k posts I have made here you can feel free to peruse.

I'M obliviously not in the same league as you are but considering I still work 60-70 hours per week I do as much as I can politically.

My message to many who have decided to stay home and punish the GOP rather than defeat them is that once the primaries are over you lost. It's over.If that conservative candidate is defeated we get what we get and then the choice is to support whomever it is or help the commies. That's the only choice under our system. If you want another system that's nice but its not reality.

I'm not much on helping commie/dems. Never have been never will be.

A perfect example of what I am advocating is the current race for potus in 2016. It's already well under way we are just not participating. We are letting the Hillary monster get a huge head start.

Right now conservatives such as you and I have a perfect shot at supporting a conservative candidate for President of the US in 2016.

We need to pick just one man/woman(Palin/Cruz etc.) get behind them and do everything that is necessary to make sure they win the nomination. If not we will get another Romney, Bush, Christie or worse chosen for us by the GOPe.

So the choice is ours. Do we sit back not vote and punish the Gop-e because we didn't get our way or try and insure we get our way by winning in the primaries? The choice is yours.

He needs a reading comp course to go along with civics. I have to wonder, based solely on his posts, if he ever received any formal education at all. Granted, he has some since he types, but so does everyone on Twitter...which isn’t saying much. He could have learned it through osmosis.

He has shown he has no functional knowledge in two of the most basic areas normal schooling provides.

But that’s the state of conservatism today. He’s a perfect example of why it’s in trouble.

And yet here you are, advocating that Conservatives do not vote.

Wrong, pal, ONE HUNDRED PERECENT in error. I have written REPEATEDLY that I think informed folks have a duty to vote.

Conservatives who cherish freedom have a duty to vote such that big government leftists lose, including -- and especially -- big government leftist Republicans. The only time I advise NOT to vote is in specific races where the ONLY names on the ballot are big government leftists, as in the case of California governor, where you either vote for the leftist Democrat (Jerry Brown) or the Romney-style leftist Republican (Neel Kashkari). In that race IF you vote, you WILL be voting for a leftist no matter what. So I will decline to vote in that particular race. I will, however, be voting the rest of the ballot where there are actual choices instead of pretend "choices" where you either vote for this leftist or that leftist.

YOU, on the other hand, will vote for a functional Democrat in a Republican jersey and urge OTHERS to vote for a functional Democrat in a Republican jersey. Talk about "defeatist stragtegy," Max! GOOD GRIEF!!!!

You gotta pay attention, son.

And since you are advocating that I be zotted, how about answering my question: HAVE YOU contributed to this quarter's FReepathon yet?

Or are you being the dependent entitlement leech that leftists generally are? And since you are willing to vote FOR leftists (albeit in Republican jerseys) and are here encouraging others to do the same, it is entirely fitting to define you as a leftist.

I await your answer, which I hope is affirmative -- that you indeed HAVE contributed something in three figures to Jim Robinson and FR. Otherwise, I think you are a fraud. Put your money where your mouth is, pal.

LOL — It makes me wonder how these people'd react if Obama declared that he was switching parties.
(Actually, that'd be a pretty shrewd move, so far as history-books are concerned. [link])
