Jack Welch to GOP: Run a real conservative in 2016

Republicans need to run a presidential candidate in 2016 like a Ted Cruz or a Rand Paul, not a Jeb Bush or a Chris Christie, management guru Jack Welch told CNBC on Monday.

Bush and Christie are "too middle of the road" to win the country, the conservative-leaning Welch said in a "Squawk Box" interview—a day before the 2014 midterm election in which Republicans hope to take control of the Senate.

Couldn’t agree more.

The future of the Repulsican party lies on their actions in the next couple of years.

What does Jack Welch know about conservatism? Isn’t he an adulterer?

Comments like this are why some people don't take FR seriously any more. I've never heard anything more moronic than that in a long time. But I suppose you are perfect, the second person ever to be so. Good to know.....BANGHEAD BANGHEAD BANGHEAD BANGHEAD.

I’d like to see Rand Paul as President first. Let him sign the laws that will forever undo the power of the Executive Branch, then you can have whoever you want for president ...

not a Jeb Bush or a Chris Christie

Don't leave Romney and Rubio out of this. They are big government RINOs, just like Christie and Bush, and they deserve recognition for their unelectably squishy natures too.

I don’t believe adultery is limited to non-conservatives.

And it’s refreshing to hear this from Welch, who I would have assumed would be more establishment in thinking. He was slow to criticize Obama, like the estabs were - but this is refreshing.

And of course 100% right.

Rand Paul is totally unreliable. An amnesty pimp who would flood the country with democrat voting illegals. That’s MUTS! Go, Cruz, GO!!

Amen, Brother. Let’s unite behind Ted Cruz EARLY to break the cycle of multiplicity of conservatives (and FAKE conservatives) running in the primaries knocking one another out.

Sadly, will never happen.

It isn’t that America is Conservative, or even trending Conservative, that I think they should do that. America is moving Left at a very rapid pace. Demographics are against us.

The reason we need to run a Conservative (and no I don’t think Cruz is that guy ... to bought and paid for) and espouse Conservative values is that before it’s all over for us, we need to give America one last chance. What she chooses is what she chooses but I know this ... there is NO chance if we keep sticking with, and running, Dem-lite.

Jack welch adulter? He’s not exactly a looker. Must be the money. 2016? At least he names names. The country was ready in 1980. They will be ready next time. Should I invest in the s & p in 16’ or the small cap fund?

Agree 100%.

Most people I know, that know of this site but don’t participate (Dem or Rep) think we’re all right wing lunatic nuts. They attribute comments like this to the Tea Party, the GOP, Rino’s, Conservatives....paint us all with one brush. There was an old quote: “You’re the good guys. You should act like it.”

Enough name calling and BS. Jack Welch knows business. Mitt Romney knows business. Two opposites as it relates to marital fidelity? Likely. But they know how to turn around ailing endeavors.

Posting such an irrelevant comment leads one to believe that you disagree with Jack Welch and prefer Jebby or Krispy?

Isn’t it a little early to start character assassination of supporters of constitutional conservatives?
