-- Tom Magliozzi, half of the "Click and Clack" team of brothers who hosted NPR's "Car Talk" radio show, died Monday. He was 77.

NPR reported the death Monday afternoon. The cause was complications from Alzheimer's disease, the radio network said.

In a statement, his brother Ray remembered a jovial partner.

"We can be happy he lived the life he wanted to live; goofing off a lot, talking to you guys every week, and primarily, laughing his ass off," he said.

Actually, some of the shows on NPR are not that bad. It's just that during a show about CARS!!!! for crying out loud, one of the hosts goes out of his or her way to make a political comment, I stop listening.

I remember about ten years ago I was out walking in a state park near my home, and I thought, what the heck, I'll listen to NPR and see if their programming was as lib/leftist as I had remembered. I listened to three different, one hour programs in a row. All three were decidedly leftist slanted. That was enough for me.

I have listened at different times, and they did have some interesting shows that weren't political. But they were few and far between.

Gee, why should I? hmmmm. I don’t know... because I listened to the show occasionally for laughs. And then when some jerk makes a stupid, snotty comment, I stopped listening. But you’re right...I don’t care...which is why I haven’t listened to the show since then.

The information density on their show was extremely low, with more yukking it up than useful information. Mostly, I found it to be a waste of time.

Well they did always close their show with "Well, you've squandered another perfectly good hour..."

“Was the show in reruns?”

Since October 2012. They knew Tom couldn’t go on.

I know it was NPR, and I am a conservative libertarian, but I really enjoyed those guys. Sometimes funny is just funny.

Is Dewey, Cheathem, and Howe executing his will?

Always enjoyed the show. RIP Mr Magliozzi.

Dodge Dart was very frequently part of their radio show. I have my own Dodge Dart memories and are all good
